Skipped yoga for a few days

Hi,

I’m pretty new with yoga, a couple months i’d say. I recently had my wisdom tooth extraction and have been sick, very sick with pain and swelling and have not been able to do yoga for a few days and not sure when i can resume.
Anyways, the problem is that i’m a mess, Mentally i’m a mess without yoga. It just keeps me balanced and calm and helps me quiet my mind. But without it for a few days i just cannot find the balance. Every feeling and thought that i thought, I was done with, is cropping up and really disturbing me. My mind is again running with a train of thoughts.
So i tried meditating for 10-15 minutes today, that too was not without disturbances, but i managed to kinda quiet myself.
Please advise is anyone has ever felt this way, has this happened to you. What do you do ?

Is normal to have a restless mind and only practice consistently will cool it down.

For the tooth you can get wild oregano oil that kills bacterias or neem oil which kills and recover the skin amazingly fast. The taste is very bitter though on neem. If you have problems with taste get the wild oregano but it stings, but usually they are diluted and one can dilute it even more with oliveoil. 1-2 drops on the affected area should do after eating.

If you can only sit 5 -10 minutes thats more than enough in the beginning. If you lie down try to sit instead its not so easy to drift away in your thoughs as when lying down. The more you practice the easier it gets, you should notice small improvements rather quick.

thanks a lot. i will try to find the oil at the vitamin shoppe or gnc.
Are you saying i should rather just sit and not lie down, as sitting helps in being more with it, in the sense that lying down give encouragement to a lot of thoughts.
Thanks a lot again.

In the beginning it was so for me. After you have sat for 5 min or more lie down and continue , that lying down will give deeper relaxation to the body.

Is always best to sit some people fall asleep if they lie down as the mind is used to sleep in that position.

Can you do some restorative type yoga while you are not well? Just easy relaxing, held, mostly lying down, doing little, type poses but a session of that might give you the better frame of mind that you are looking for.

Ash i feel for you, a year ago i had mine removed and was very ill.
Is it top, bottom or all you had removed?
The bottom will take longer to heal as the top drains easier but try not to let your mouth dry because you do not wont dry socket.
My wife spoilt me while i was down, do not do anything too serious if you have had stiches just rest…

In that case stopping commercial toothpaste is also good as they tend to dry the mouth.

Thanks everyone for your responses. My lower right was removed and it caught an infection and then i was on anti-biotics and some very strong pain killers.

Its all good now, the swelling went away, there is no pain anymore, i can eat normally now.

Thanks for your responses again.

Salt water wash, not gargle is also good to take that bad breath away too.

Try not eat too much on that side to prevent tearing of the tissue and yeah salty warm water after eating to stop another infection.

I had both bottom out in one go after an infection, so i know the pain.

Take it easy
