Soreness from exercise

First of all, I did an exercise that Deepak Chopra’s recommends doing everyday. From Virasana, you slowly rise up on the knees, and then back down. My quads were so sore the next 4 days that I found it hard to go up and down stairs. That soreness finally went away, but now my buttocks and sacrum are sore. Could it be that the quads got so stiff, and that affected the gluts?

I would not encourage his recommendation. This motion can definitely stress the knee joints and its delicate connective tissues. Your guess as to the reactions is correct. Over working quads in this manner eventually stresses the antagonist muscles – psoas and gluteus Maximus.
