Standing & inverted splits

doing front splits on the floor & holding it for 1-2 mins is not a problem for me. but doing it while standing or inverted like in head stand is a different story. my standing split is at most about 130 degrees keeping in mind that we have to rotate the thigh (the leg that is in the air) inwards in order to square the hip; and in inversion it is 90 degree at its best! :mad:

can anyone tell me how are each of these asanas different? what should i do to improve? :smiley:

Maybe work a the balance while inverted a bit more? I know with me, I have more reservations about doing the splits when inverted as I have to work on the balance a bit more to become confident enough to do the splits upside down.
