Stretching for lotus pose

I have been trying to stretch for lotus pose now. Every day I for 15 minutes try and touch the floor for as far as I can, then another 15 min I sit on the floor like a hurdle jumper and try to stretch as far to my toes as possibble. Addition to that, everytime I watch tv or read etc. I sit as far into half lotus as I can to inch my way into it.

So far it feels like I have not stretched at all. What can I do to get into this position. I wish to practice meditation in this pose. I already do meditation, I just think it would like to be able to do this and would like to know how to come about it. Im not in any serious hurry or anything, I would just like a technigue(s) to focus my energy.
