By the way the kid post pretty good stuff .But not everithing is been said about yoga here. And I will zip my mouth now.
In Astrology, ages 29, 30, 31 are highly significant periods, spiritually…29 Jesus, 29 Buddha…Surya is 30, so he is at the turning point, to practice, i think.x

I am being completely serious here
When I turned 31 I realized that I was going to live a long time and since just about everyone I know up till that point gave me to about 30, at best, I was rather shocked and decided I was going to live a long time so I better change my ways
yes Yulaw, astrology is a wonderful tool for pinpointing all sorts in life. When a person fails to take action at those years, they have one more period that is again, significant naturally and that 58, 59, 60…the problem with these periods is we are older…
By significant naturally I mean these years apply to all people. They are awakenings.
In an individual chart there may be factors that direct the person at other times,as well and in all sorts of ways…
Ps…,I found the inner guru at 29-30ish
Firm believer and practitioner in Astrology x
That’s about the same here Kareng…32;)
Although i only knew i had found and was experiencing inner guru after trying deep meditation but then i was told that was what i was to look out for and had already digested some of the philosophy…
I probably met inner guru when i started yoga but i think it take’s time to understand inner guru, get closer is what i mean and use it in your practice. That might take some time because in the proces you may have to find out things about yourself that can make you feel a little uncomfortable.
Inner guru to me is basically the watcher, the observer behind the relative veils of appearances…
I’m with you on the age thing 30 is when you usually calm down alot and settle emotionally, become less vain , give up treating life as “fun”, going to pubs nigthclubs etc this all generally disapears. You have a better sense of who you are and what you think life is about.
I think you grow often through being challeenged and i think it’s almost difficult not to reach a certain age and not have been challeneged or been through a crisis or two or even trauma of one kind or another, life’s knocks and bashes… That might be health ,relationships etc. You become far less cocky or sure etc.
Inner guru is found through meditative state.
I’m not 60 myself Karen but does sound a bit like a cycle… alot can happen in 30 years…
yes Core, it means to take action x.
The reason it has an overlap of time is because the planet Saturn is responsible for this. and because it is an outer planet it means it moves in slowly 27 28 and moves out slowly 30 31 and perhaps 32. Its reverberations are felt surrounding the years of 29.x
Interesting Kareng xx. Fascinating stuff.
Yes it is a about taking action. Very true. Easier said than done. Sometimes…sometimes not.
Endless speculation in yoga does not bring results.
But yes i believe in the science behind yoga. The moment you begin to question that or over-rationalise then you can get lost. And as a conseqeunce find it ddiffcult to find yourself again. You true nature. It is a serious business…yoga. It is very easy to get lost. I have been there myself. So i am always learning. The moment we think we understand it all can proclaim i am a wiser soul than you is when you can run foul of all kind so obstacles,pit-falls and traps. The spiritual path is serious business. It is not for the faint-hearted. You really do get to uncover yourself,Know thyself. But i think you get that also by facing things, rather than running away , living in the world rather than in isolation. Retreats are fine but you need to return to helping others and so on.
It is so easy to get lost on this path.
I’ve been learning more pranayama myself recently and i am getting good results from it.It is very powerful yoga. But al these things take time, patience…taking action like you say. Very gd.
Yes we can take action now…Today…Why Wait for Saturn…
Why prevaricate the inevitable or wait until conditions are just so right & optimal… this can be misguided also and deluding.
I’m thinking of looking for a job myself just for something to do right now.
yes Core, why not…sounds good thing to do…x
Well many thanks for the encouragement Kareng…it just takes disicipline & managing your time effectively… There are so many distractions in life it is easy to put your practice on hold and prevaricate…setting up good habits is yoga in some sense.
You know how it is!!!
We like to put things off…
We know what is good for us but do we do it, like all the time?
ACTION,yes guru Kareng
Thankyou
I need folk like you to give me whipping up the ass ,lol, so i run to my practice regularly!!!
Like i am hungry, burning desire and all that.
Raging bhakti is the fuel for the fire of sadhana to burn those impurities away. The guru shows the way.---->>> The guru can be anythign if we d show and desire to listen. This can be the ucnomfortable bit also for me you see.Commitment, dedication practice, practice, practice…

Namaste,
I have been away on a Buddhist week retreat(I will give a general review of the experience in the “Is Buddhism a religion thread”) this is why I could not post on here. I really appreciate your kindness and maturity Thomas in starting this thread, and I equally appreciate the comments others have shared with me. Thank you.
I accept both the praise and criticisms equally with even-mindedness
Welcome back.
I hope you enjoyed your retreat, learned much, but were not persuaded to turn to the dark side.
Why be tolerant or show tolerance to one has demonstrated time and time again his intolerance
So without further adieu
Surya Deva you are a troll and I am not talking about the Japanese ‘Oni’ or a supernatural creature of Scandinavian folklore, whose race was thought to have carried massive stones into the countryside that lives in hills, mountains, caves, or under bridges… but an Internet Troll
An Internet Troll
a person who submits deliberately inflammatory articles to an internet discussion
an internet user who sends inflammatory or provocative messages designed to elicit negative responses or start a flame-war. (As a fisherman trolls for an unsuspecting fish.)
One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.
A person who, on a message forum of some type, attacks and flames other members of the forum for any of a number of reasons such as rank, previous disagreements, sex, status, etc.
A troll usually flames threads without staying on topic, unlike a “Flamer” who flames a thread because he/she disagrees with the content of the thread.
A member of an internet forum who continually harangues and harasses others. Someone with nothing worthwhile to add to a certain conversation, but rather continually threadjacks or changes the subject, as well as thinks every member of the forum is talking about them and only them. Trolls often go by multiple names to circumvent getting banned.
And based on “Trolls A Guide” http://www.flayme.com/troll/
How can troll posts be recognized?
No Imagination - Most are frighteningly obvious; sexist comments on nurses’ groups, blasphemy on religious groups … I kid you not.
Pedantic in the Extreme - Many trolls’ preparation is so thorough, that while they waste time, they appear so ludicrous from the start that they elicit sympathetic mail - the danger is that once the group takes sides, the damage is done.
False Identity - Because they are cowards, trolls virtually never write over their own name, and often reveal their trolliness (and lack of imagination) in the chosen ID. As so many folk these days use false ID, this is not a strong indicator on its own!
Cross posting - Any post that is cross posted to several groups should be viewed as suspicious, particularly if unrelated or of opposing perspective. Why would someone do that?
Off-topic posting - Often genuine errors, but, if from an ‘outsider’ they deserve matter-of-fact response; if genuine, a brief apposite response is simply netiquette; if it’s a troll post, you have denied it its reward.
Repetition of a question or statement is either a troll - or a pedant; either way, treatment as a troll is effective.
Missing The Point - Trolls rarely answer a direct question - they cannot, if asked to justify their twaddle - so they develop a fine line in missing the point.
Thick or Sad - Trolls are usually sad, lonely folk, with few social skills; they rarely make what most people would consider intelligent conversation. However, they frequently have an obsession with their IQ and feel the need to tell everyone. This is so frequent, that it is diagnostic! Somewhere on the web there must be an Intelligence Test for Trolls - rigged to always say “above 150”
You are have done things on this site that fall under the following headings from the above quoted section; No Imagination, Cross posting, Off-topic posting, Repetition of a question or statement, Missing The Point and Thick or Sad. Surya you have done 7 out of 8 things that can be used to recognized a troll.
Therefore from this point on, IMO (In My Opinion), you are a Troll and will be treated as such and any response I make to you or your posts from this point on will be DNFTT which means “Do not feed the trolls" the only other response I can think of that would apply to you is blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda whatever.
Now in true Surya Deva fashion…I shall now make this all better and okie dokie by posting this
Yet another road has appeared and I am going to take it and for now it leads me away form here
I see you made a quick u-turn to get in some final jabs. Or are you back in town for awhile?
SD isn’t a troll.
That’s a ridiculous assertion.
Especially in a thread that has a positive intent.
Maybe you could continue your vendetta in a special thread?
Yulaw is gone. And I am too now. Bye.
You have hijacked two threads to simply abuse me, holding no bars. This is more worthy of being called trollish, than anything I have said or done on this forum ever since I’ve been here.
You are quick to condemn, but you do not realise what you condemn, is more present in you. Jesus said, “Do not try to move the splinter from the eye of your fellow man, when you have a beam in your own”
You hide behind taoism and post threads abusing people, patronizing people or saying vague and pretentious things that you want to pass of as wisdom, but in reality taoism has not made you a better person. This is clear for ever objective reader to see.
I have no doubt in my mind that if we met in real life you would physically try to harm me. You will either report me as a “terrorist” or get me outcasted. It was people like you, who held vendettas against people, that were behind the witch trials.
Nonetheless I accept you as you are and only hope you get better soon. You are full of hatred, and you need to deal with it.
The only thing that causes others to perceive such things about Surya is that he says the Truth.
The only thing that causes others to perceive such things about Surya is that he says the Truth.
One sure truth is the ongoing debate about what is the truth. From all the discussions here on that, one thing is clear - Truth is really based on one’s personal perceptions, values, experiences, culture, and existence. Even quantum science is having a hard time defining the truth, so now they bow to the theory of many truths.
Even SD knows this to be true
