Svaroopa yoga

I came across a svaroopa yoga teacher that is near me and I think can fit my schedule and from what I have been reading it may be a good thing for my hip and knees.

Has anyone here done svaroopa yoga or know about it?

I’m doing a yoga routine but svaroopa yoga looks interesting and I think it might help my hip and knees from what I have read.

I have no direct experience, but the founder of the system, Swami Nirmalananda Saraswati, has a seemingly good reputation and the style is gentle and restorative. If the teacher is nearby, give it a go and then you will know!

Thank You, I probably will.

My reasons have always been that the yoga teachers schedule does not match mine at all and the ones who have a schedule that works for me are too far away. However this person is not all that far from me and it appears I may be able to get there for a private lesson.

Hmmm I smell blockages. And they may be incredibly pertinent, required, justified. Or they may not. I mention this (SCMT) only for your own introspection. I myself have been there experientially and now as a teacher I hear students … I can’t afford, it’s not the right time, the right teacher, etc. We must acknowledge that the important things we absolutely find a way to get to and get done.

It will be interesting to see if you pursue this in the absence of “normal” obstructions for you or if something “comes up”

Could be, but in some cases definitely not. The classes they recommend I go to are at times, based on my work schedule, that make it impossible for me to get there. Or getting my kids to the places they need to be made it impossible.

The last time I went was private lessons that were right after work on the way to my house so it fit perfectly. However my teacher has been out of the country and is now training Ayurveda.

But it is possible that in some cases it could be a blockage, It was a blockage that was stopping me from training on my own and I did get through that one so it could be blockage stopping me from going to other teachers, I shall think about it

Thank You

I shall post here as things progress.

Its a pertinent (self) reflection for all of us.

Yes please let me know how it was, I heard about this kind of yoga (good things! it should be very gentle and therapeutic) but so far didn’t had the chance to practice it myself.

Thanks
