SWARA aka Alternative Rhinitis

Everyone is familiar with Nadi Shodhan pranayama. I found the info about that we actually breath with one nostril as the day goes, but every hour it changes. I tried to check on my nostrils breath during the day and it is changing right to the left…

Anyone has any experience with it?

here are more info on that http://blog.yogamsharanam.com/swara-yoga-part-4-rhythmic-flow-of-the-swara/

Hatha Yoga Pradipika says that right is for pingala and left is for ida. I’m just wondering that if we are to watch this swara thing - we can use it to our advantage and perform different task accordingly with prana flow.

Yes, on experiencing this myself. What a cool system, yes?
Your friends here on the forum have shared some more information on the subject in this threadtoo.

I think your question is fantastic. You may certainly create a Yogic relationship with what your body is doing spontaneous by watching and choosing actions that “go with the flow.” When I am closing a Yoga therapy session with clients using Yoga Nidra or other restorative practices, I will have them roll to their left side and stay for a few minutes to help stimulate the pingala if they need to be off to their next appointment or back to work. And if they are going into mediation or home to rest, then I have them roll to their right side for a number of breaths to encourage ida. This is just one example on how you can work with and promote the breath in this way.

Thank you, Nicole, I read the post. My Greediness want to derive an advantage from it:) I’m just wondering that we block for example right nostril and breath with the left only (ida) would we activate the creative part of the brain and became super - creative:)? and vice versa.
