Sweating during Yoga

I have always sweat a lot during any excercise. I think this is a good thing.

Recently I have upped the number of times I am practicing per week. So far so good.

I have found that because of this my sweating has exponentially increased more than ever before. I have taken to bringing a small towel with me to my class. And am considering wearing a headband. As the sweat sometimes flows into my eyes.
I feel a bit bad for my instructors as when they come up to help me with a pose I am just soaked. No one has ever complained to my relief.

I can only assume that all this is from the prana and heat I am generating.

Is this the norm with increasing my asanas?

What sort of practice are you doing?

Vinyasa Flow.

Well that’s a sweaty, yang practice and likely in a heated room.

Certainly different people have different perspiration thresholds.

I’m not exactly sure what you’re inquiry is. Am I sweating more because I’m more frequently attending a fast-paced class in an 83? room?

Well. It’s like this. I’ve been going to the same studio for 2 years. It has been the same 3 or 4 teachers that I take the Flow class from. The room is not heated. Either there is air conditioning or the windows are open.
So if you look at all the factors, the one thing that has changed is the number of times per week I practice. I have gone from 3-4 flows to 5-6.
So it seems like either the frequency has caused my body heat and sweat to increase greatly. Or because of the frequency I have gotten somewhere else.
If anything the flows seem, for lack of a better word,“easier”. Or at least lately things flow more smoothly.
But the sweat just pours off of me. Maybe this is just a phase. And I’m not worried or complaining. Just curious. As to the why. Guess that’s why I love yoga. Observing transitions or changes.

It is neither good or bad. It is simply response of your body. Some people sweat more than others.
More sweating does not directly mean you are doing best or you are burning lot of calories. In fact one minus thing here is that you will dehydrate faster than others and will feel drained at the end.

That’s fair. In any event, the deep sweating has stopped.i have kept the same frequency of practice. But whatever was causing this seems to have leveled out.

Quite interesting to me. The adjustability of our bodies.

It’s normal. Isn’t a pathology in itself.

Part of Vinyasa Flow is building a lot of body heat. That’s why we Vinyasa so much especially in the beginning. Increased circulation, preparation of the body for more advanced poses, etc.

You’re sweating is your bodies way of projecting your internal heat.
You’re probably sweating more because you’re getting better at flow and building more heat.

I sweat like crazy. I love it.

On another note. As I said the sweating has stopped and I feel that I have gone on to a new level of my practice.
Interesting. I feel like my transitions have somehow gotten smoother.
