Mukunda, reading your book structural yoga therapy which I’m enjoying. Two yeas ago i had back surgery for a heninated disk L4 and L5 which went well and all pain was eliminated. Two months ago I began to feel muscle tightness and back disconfort however on the other side of the original problem so i began to do yogi to see if i can strech out etc. flexible i’m not. i tryed many poses but feel that when i’m in a seating pose and bend forward it tends to hurt when returning to seating position, its hard for me to seat like that without arm support, it appears this position isnt good for me. bending forward to touch floor for me is impossible i guess due to back problems. by the way even when i was younger and in good shape touching floor was never accomplished i assume that the structure of my body. when operated on the doctor also found a bit of artritis in my lower back i am 57 years old 5’ 9" 170 lbs…What poses are safe for me to help and strengthen my back
Mukunda is dealing with some health issues and he’s not directly involved in this board any longer. A reply from him directly is highly unlikely. Several of his students do visit here or can be contacted elsewhere and that is my suggestion to you.
If you want reply from others then I am certain many here are willing to weigh in.
