A true Guru would not allow his students to depend on him for their spiritual evolution,he will only serve as a guide to help challenge the students on their limitation what ever they may be having at that time.He will also not favor one aspect of the self (mind or body or spirit) over the other but develop everything,this is where the word holistic comes from.I encourage people to stop fantasizing about some alleged enlightened guy (preferably fitting a stereotypical ethno profile) laying his curry smelling hands on their lazy muladharas so they don`t have to take responsibility for their own spiritual evolution.
