“Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.”
~ Groucho Marx
I would like to believe this.
But if you wake up one day and your house is rubble and some of your family are dead? Can you really be happy that day?
Have you ever been in excruciating pain, and at the same time do you think you could have chosen to be happy?
I prefer Groucho’s quote about not joining a club that would have him as a member.
man proposes and God disposes.
Today for me is a happy day, I woke up happy after having a daft dream that made me laugh. I then had a shower and watched a spider sneaking in and out behind the soap dish, hoping I wouldn’t spot him, that made me smile…then I came downstairs and my dog was all happy, my parrot was chirpy and happy…you do think of happy things Flex…nice, very nice…but just wait till the Corrie episodes to come…you’ll be bawling:D
Live for the moment. The present is the gift.
