Trouble with Tree Pose

Hi,

I have been doing yoga for about 4 years now. One of the first poses I started doing was Tree Pose.

Since then,I think I have learned to do many more complicated poses. Crow Pose, and so on.

Suddenly the last few weeks I am having trouble getting into and holding Tree.

It just seems that my balance is off on this pose. Perhaps it is mental?

Just seems crazy that I am now having trouble with something that came so easily in the beginning.

Is this common? I’m not going to cry or brood about it, and hopefully it will pass. But it is a bit puzzling.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Is this common?

No it is not common. Tree pose is considered to be easy balance posture. It is mental for sure. Initially, again keep your hands horizontally instead of taking it up.

Thanks Umesh.

I assume there are no other symptoms like digestive disorder , sleep difficulty or fatigue feeling that you may have observed lately along with balance issue.

Hi Umesh,
No. Physically I feel good. But you do mention sleep difficulty. Have been feeling very unstable on my job lately due to management changes. This has effected my sleep patterns and I don’t always sleep the night through like I used to. I wonder if the job instability and erratic sleeping could be the carrying over into my practice? Hmmm.

OK. Now it seems I am back to being able to do Tree Pose. My position was eliminated and now that there is no issue as to which way things are going I got more stable.
I am unemployed, however I can do Tree Pose just fine now.
Ironic.

I’m sorry you lost your job - that sucks. It is amazing how our lives play out in our practice and vice versa. I hope you find another job that is fulfilling. In the mean time, may your yoga practice deepen during this time of transition.

Be Blessed

Thanks Suba.
