Vajrasana

Is it advisable to do vajrasana if a person suffers from piles…I don’t want to quit doing this asana as it has helped me a lot…I started doing this asana after i came to know that i had piles…recently i have read in some of the sites that people suffering from piles shouldn’t do this asana…so please help me and share your opinion…

Make sure that you are well hydrated. Fiber is very important and you might assess if you have a gluten sensitivity. Sitting for a long time on the pot is not recommended, but, this is not a “posterior-spreading” posture. I would avoid “spreading the sitting-bones” call in class for any seated position. But nonetheless, I think it is a very personal choice based on comfort, as with any yoga, you should only do asanas for which your body is ready.
