What are the objectives of Yoga Research?

Kaivalyadhama is the Scientific Research Department (SRD) founded in 1924.

objectives:

  • To investigate various yoga practices based on scientific parameters by using modern sophisticated equipment and techniques employed in Physiology, Biochemistry, Psychology, Physical Education, and allied disciplines like Ayurveda.

  • To develop methods for standardizing the technique of various yogic practices on the basis of scientific investigation.

  • To critically review the literature on yoga for understanding Yogic concepts available in related texts that can facilitate scientific investigation on yoga.

  • To collect published scientific work on yoga done in Kaivalyadhama’s departments and elsewhere, and to prepare monograms, abstracts and bibliographies on select Yogic practices.
