PLRD focuses on conducting in-depth research on yoga philosophy and literature. As one of the pioneers in the research of yogic concepts, PLRD received the status of a scientific and literary research department in 1944 at the Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute.
The mission at PLRD is to conduct systematic research into the textual, editorial, bibliographic and encyclopedic aspects of yoga. The department is involved in the collection, preservation, and dissemination of ancient and modern yoga texts.
Through lectures, publications, translations and reference materials on yogic principles, PLRD makes yogic wisdom available worldwide.
