So here is what I understand and it is all in light of Kriya Yoga as I have never practiced another form and have never had a desire to do so.
#1. I understand that by the practice of Talabya Kriya That within a period of three to four months the tissues of the mouth and tongue became able to withstand the demands made by energy moving Kundalini whatever it is called that made the tongue first press hard into the soft pallet and then finally go up and above. I understand that by this connection being made, from an energetic desire that it do so that the rest of the Kriyas changed in the way they operate they became more active and energy flow easier to feel direct and work with. I understand that mind became more silent and ego more transparent.
#2. I understand that by practicing the forward bends of KYI in Kechari that the spine became more limber as well as the hips and all the joints thereby allowing Siddhasana to be practiced. I understand that on the level of Energy manipulation the spine has become a more enlivened organ and able to conduct the current very nicely. This is called magnetizing the spine normal breathing is used with a slight pause top and bottom. I understand this separates Ida and pingala from Sushumna. I understand that the sound of the nadis from and Anahata become clearly heard by this practice.
#3. I understand that by the practice of Maha Mudra the spine is opened even more fully oxygen blood etc… can enter into and the brain and keep it healthy and limber. I understand on the energy body side of things it also allows for a clean channel by further separating Ida and Pingala from sushumna
#4. I understand by the practice of Shambhavi Mudra during all practice that both hemispheres of the brain become evened out in their activity.
#5. I understand that by the practice of Siddhasana that the energy is more easily moved upwards into higher centers.
#6. I understand that by placing mental OM Japa in the centers with normal breathing allowing the energy flows to dictate the breath rather than the other way around along the back of the spine from Muladhara to Medulla is proper before Kechari is had but after it is had one should move on to Kutastha and Sahasrara as the two pieces of Sushumna are made whole by the practice of Kechari in the energy body and the circuit to the highest centers is completed. I understand that OM Japa takes on a power of it’s own and the energy in the centers may be felt.
#7. I understand that by practicing Navi Kriya allowing energy to dictate breathing but otherwise normal that a power in the system is generated felt glowing and humming in Manipura in the back and then in Medulla and Kutastha and often racing between the two in the spine, I understand this energy starts feeding the animal body and breathing becomes un needed for periods of time and many ecstatic states are achieved.
#8.I understand by the practice of Kriya Pranayama proper from Muladhara to Medulla without Kechari is proper. I understand once Kechari is achieved and the two pieces of sushumna are made one that on can go to the Kutastha and sahasrara as feels correct to do so. I understand that the ideal count is 3 seconds in each center as one inhales a 3 second pause then a 3 second exhalation doing the same as on the way up followed by a 3 second pause. I also understand I never follow this rule because I let the energy dictate how the body will or will not breathe and this automatically prevents either over or under oxygenating to occur. I understand that one must get out of ones own way and do and witness mostly, then states of being occur on their own that words can not describe. I understand the still state of breath occurring from the animal body being fed by the absorption in ecstasy of the energy and the ego dissolving and the witness becoming one with just being. I understand that when the breathing becomes still that this is when real Pranayama is practiced and the energy is moved from center to center in the spine and the feeling is incredible and the witness becomes one with bliss and leaves and dissolves and ceases for periods of time to exist.
#9. I understand by the practice of Jyoti or Yoni Mudra That I may see my Chakras and have they are indeed wheels with spokes and move and have different colors. I understand the ring the orb and the 5 pointed white star and have entered into it and from this I am convinced of the existence of being without animal form. Pictures available in my user profile.
#10. I understand by the practice of just sitting in the after-poise of Kriya practice and experiencing this state that breathing stops and so does heart beat but only after the fact and can not communicate where " I " was as there is no witness anymore.
This is what I understand of Yoga and where it leads when practiced in this manner.
Something I want to emphasize is that breathing is secondary, Yes secondary. If one attaches to the breathing beyond learning the technique it is a hinderance and will prevent development.
Furthermore learning to feel energy and dissolve in it is necessary, hearing the sounds is a shallow focus but helpful seeing light in Kutastha again helpful and is right under the sounds as a guiding thing, but the goal only comes from ecstatic absorption and dissolving of the reporting witness EGO in it.
Feeling energy is natural for me always has been but the practice of Kriya leads to this ability it just takes a little time. I understand after taking initiation this ability greatly improved.
I understand EGO as a thing which I can watch now and it is becoming more and more transparent this is a by product of what has been described above.
Here it is a year later and my Mind functions much more smoothly, there are less emotional restrictions, I am more loving, I have greater intuitive faculties, I recognize and move more swiftly to inner promptings of Gods will. I am more generous and less stingy, I am more at peace and in contact with that special something else that is a part of God and more happy as a result. I, I ,I I Blah, Blah Blah. Needless to say there is most certainly the awareness that there is much room for improvement and that achieving Samadhi States does not make one automatically better than anyone else or Instantly transformed nor instantly liberated.
What it does mean is accelerated changes and living it I am my only witness and uniquely unqualified to report if it is real or just imagination as I am my only witness.
The only thing I can report from the outside is that People who know me however have remarked on the changes. People who have prayed to God for help are sent to me and relate the story of how they found my services in the professional world, I never speak but allow others to do so and Think Lord Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
I know believing in God is somewhat less than popular on this site with many and all I can really say is I respect your point of view but can never share it, please respect mine or ignore it if it troubles anyone I am not selling anything.
Lastly Kriya Yoga is experiential in nature and suits my temperament the trick is feeling the energy becoming one with it through the practice and then getting out of your own way letting go and that is when an intuitive leap to other realms of being occurs on its own spontaneously. Breathing is only the start and it does not involve over oxygenating or under.
The body gets left behind the senses shut down but this comes from practice and what has been described no breathing method or touching sensitive parts in the skull with your tongue will do this at some point the intuitive happens on it’s own and when it does time and time again it happens more and more frequently and starts the minute you sit.
All of these things I understand from experience.
What do you understand?
Namaste.
