I’m a newbie to yoga and would like to get more involved into the whole yoga process. What’s the best way to start? Videos, books, instructors…etc?
Light on Yoga (its a book) + Take some classes + A video or two from the Library.
Why can’t I edit my posts?
The asana, bandha, and pranayama sections are very good but it is Iyengar’s introduction to Light on Yoga that should be read.
@ Scales
I believe there is a brief time limit on editing. For that reason I’ve learned to take additional time composing and when I was at my foggiest, compose the text off-line then post it when I was done. Those these work for ME and may not be your cup of tea.
@donwon
Could you provide a bit more information about yourself, your background etcetera? It is difficult to give a personal direction when nothing of the person has been revealed.
Not used to it. Thanks for the suggestion. I wonder how long the time limit is? I wonder why there is a time limint in the first place.
I’ll have a thought - who knows when - about a post and would like to add a something or change a phrasing.
Rewriting is good for the work.
I think that is a very very good question, and I have no answer. I know if I have had some guidance I would have had a much easier introduction to yoga and would have had a smoother path through its beginning.
I’m anxious to read about InnerAthlete’s response when he has your details since I have always found great wisdom and knowledge in his words, and maybe some of us might benefit from a “re-start” or “Back-to-basics” plan
Always better to start with an instructor. Only if a qualified instructor is not avilable you can try alternatives.
