When least expected things appear

I got away from Yoga for a while for multiple reasons but my old injuries have caught up with me and I know have arthritis in my knees, one hip and a shoulder. I was looking for a teacher, since mine previous teacher is in Hong Kong these days more than here, and I found one but the times and distance made it impossible for me to get to meet with her. But I tend to not let a lot stop me so I kept going but then I came across a book, I was not looking for, in Barnes and Noble that just happened to catch my eye; Yoga for Arthritis: The Complete Guide by Loren Fishman. So I bought it and took it home to see what it could do. I should also mention the book was on a bottom shelf in a section I was passing by and I just happened to look down and see it.

A few weeks before that I was talking to someone at work about Arthritis and they recommended DVDs by Peggy Cappy, to which I said thank you but I had no intention of buying them, however right after I bought the above book I was in my local library looking for a DVD and I came across one of Peggy Cappy?s DVDs; Yoga for the Rest of Us: Easy Yoga for Easing Pain. I also discovered they had; Yoga for the Rest of Us: Easy Yoga for Arthritis, however that one appears to come in and go out on the same day and I kept missing it. So I decided to borrow; Yoga for the Rest of Us: Easy Yoga for Easing Pain.

I worked with it for a week and I then added in some of the postures from Yoga for Arthritis: The Complete Guide and I have a 30 minute routine that is helping me with everything. I am regaining flexibility and I have less pain.

I just find it interesting how these things appeared when they did

Just felt like posting this

SCMT! Nice to see you here again!!! Even better that you have come back to yoga and found something that resonates, fits into your schedule and is helping. I’m rarely here anymore either and was pleasantly surprised to see your post. Keep us all updated on your progress. In the meantime, perhaps you can find a yoga therapy teacher in your area that you can meet with privately with. He/she can then help you with specific asana to help with the pain and increasing your flexibility. I know you meditate. Are you still? That’s an important piece of the puzzle.

Lotusgirl, nice to see you still pop in from time to time.

Yes I still meditate, and I am glad to be back working with yoga since it does seem to be helping.

I have been in contact with my last yoga teacher, via e0mail, who was also a yoga therapist, and she seems to think I am on the right track and she also agrees that the commute to Hong Kong is to far to go for a yoga class

Still following the program and feeling a little better. Did a bit of a test and stopped for about 3 days and the knees started hurting again after sitting when standing up. Back to yoga and that subsided.

Also discovered that I had developed a bit of a hunch right about where the Cervical meets the Thoracic spine. I do realize there is a bit of a bend there anyways, but this was a bit more than normal and effecting the way I bent my neck. That seems to be better after yoga as well. At least I feel taller and my neck and upper back seem to move normally. I had not even noticed the change/

I have expanded it a little and brought in a Sun Salutation from a few years ago.

Actually it just kind of appeared as I was doing my Yoga
