With the eyes closed

Why do we close our eyes when we pray? When we cry? When we dream? Or when we kiss? Because we know that the most beautiful things in life are not seen, but felt by heart.

Beautiful. But isnt it that the eyes close and not that we close them?

Remember the first time we tried meditation? Didn’t we close the eyes and the mind still wandered outside? Didn’t we open the eyes fearing some unfamiliar movement outside? We closed the eyes but saw no surgeon’s view of organs and flesh, just darkness? And then one day, after deep meditation all we remembered was slowly opening the eyes, not knowing when they closed. They close.

CM: Your lovely insight is shared with another Yogini, Helen Keller. Thank you for adding your thoughts here.
