Wots the name of this pose

OK, last time I asked for the name of a pose, I was a real Blonde, but this time perhaps I’m not such a dummy…I’m stumped.

Sorry to explain the pose, I need to explain how I got into it.

Starts with Ardha Matsyendrasana - Half Lord of the Fishes Pose then while retaining your legs in their twisted position you get your legs up on the side of your arm as per Parsva Bakasana - Side Crane Pose except your legs are still twisted like they were in Ardha Matsyendrasana.

Are you talking about Marichiasana?

Hi lashannasmall, the pose has your legs off the ground, ie you are on your hands.

Looking at another yoga pose site, you get into half spinal twist, then you put your hands down on the ground and go into side crane, but with your legs still folded as they were in half spinal twist.

Even this page doesn’t have it

Guess I’ll call it “side crane half spinal twist” until I figure out what the real name is.

I think I’ve actually seen the pose too, but I have no idea the name. Good luck on your quest and let us know if you figure it out.

Hi Bridgette, I think the instructor doesn’t have a name for it either. I’ll be seeing her in a couple of hours time for Saturday morning yoga, so will find out
