Yamas and Niyamas - Applying them to regular practice

I am currently on A Yoga Foundation course. We have been asked to be mindful of the Yamas and Niyamas when practicing our Asana’s at home.

I realsie that Yama’s and Niyama’s can be practiced in many ways during our daily lifes and that there is a lot more to Yoga than practicing Asana’s - but here I am looking to discuss how to bring the Yama’s and Niyama’s into our Asana practice.

Hello Ryan,

Since you are on a foundation course how about you begin here by listing the ten yama and niyama most commonly referenced then give one example of a method of use for each within your asana practice.

The discussion will go from there:-)

Thanks for the suggestion, I already know my methods for applying them - here Im looking for other methods and I’m assuming ppl replying will know what the Yama’s and Niyama’s.

Hi,
On reading your first post I thought you just wanted the answers to your home work…but in your second post you say you know how to apply them…so why not start the discussion by telling us yours?
Many years ago I had to write about this in my first TTC…more recently my students had to discuss this in their TTC.
I am sure/ I hope that this is covered in most TTCs…

Interesting perspective Ryan.

Best of luck with your seeking herein.

I appreciate the tactful reply Gordon. I’ve thought about my question a little more and maybe it was misleading the first time so i’ve reposted it as a new thread.

Good luck to you too.
