Yoga Alliance International and Transformation Yoga

Hi everyone,
I am planning to do a yoga teacher training this spring or summer and I discover that there are in Europe some yoga schools registred with Yoga Alliance International, and it seems different from “classical Yoga Alliance” because here it’s about Transformation Yoga.
yogaalliance.in/
Do you know anything about that? And do you know if a Diploma from Yoga Alliance International is equivalent to a Yoga Alliance Diploma?

Thank you for your answers.

Isabelle

Yoga Alliance International, Classical Yoga Alliance, Yoga Alliance Diploma, Transformation Yoga, Diploma from Yoga Alliance International.

If you can read and write and even find a forum like this to post your query, why are you finding it so difficult to gather info about above mentioned terms and phrases. To be honest, many forum members are well aware of these terms but most of them are yogis that’s why you couldn’t get even a single reply.

Other option is: simplify your query.

Enjoy.

Isabelle - The Yoga Alliance that is based in the US is not diploma granting. They are a registry that you can join if you attend a school that they deem worthy. The list of schools that have met their standards and are registered is available through their database, so check there if you are unsure whether a YTT is a from a registered school. There may be some schools that say they meet the standards to register with the Yoga Alliance, but as of August 2011, they will not accept any applications for registry from unauthorized schools. In order to register, you must attend a school that is registered with them and has paid the requisite fees.

The International Yoga Alliance is NOT the same thing and they are not affiliated.

When it comes to choosing a school, look into what the standards are where you are going to be teacher. Your students/local schools may prefer you to be part of another certifying body just as the British Wheel of Yoga or other European yoga organizations. Concentrate on finding a school that speaks to you and your practice, and who has high standards for training that meet or excel the standards for these many organizations, regardless of whether they are ‘registered schools’.

She didn’t ask for information on all of those terms and phrases. She asked a valid question that many people could easily be confused by, especially if they don’t live somewhere where either organization has a strong presence. Her question was very clear and simple, and preceded by a concise explanation and a link. I don’t understand how you would want her to simplify it it any better.

Thank you very much Suryadaya, it’s clearer now. As I am from France, Yoga Alliance there is not really well known and there seems to be so much subtibilities in the certifications that I have prefered to ask to a community such as yours. Sorry if I have been unclear, I tried my best! Anyway thank you again, I just have to look through the Internet now to find a trainig which will suit me.

Thanks Suryadaya

This post was unanswered for quite a few days which prompted me to write something here so that Isabelle could get answer to her questions from other members. And it worked.

It’d be more helpful, if you answer few more unanswered queries from her post -

Here question is - what is the importance & validity of diploma provided by Yoga Alliance International?

It’s not the same thing but it’s something. What is it? And they are not affiliated to whom?

I am agree with Suryadaya

Mii 2

Yoga Alliance international and Yoga Alliance are both just companies giving out certificates and receiving money. In the end it is of course up to you if you need that " certificate and are willing to pay some company , like YAI or YA to make this a credible one. If you just want to teach and want to teach well, and after doing many classes , courses , studies etc. for many years , and you feel like you are ready to pass the knowledge, you know that you are ready . Not because of some ego trip wanting the attention or because just for the money , but because YOU feel like you have enough knowledge to pass it on and feel like YOU are ready and not YAI or YA
