Yoga/Asana and PROSTATE

Hello everyone, first time poster here.

I have a question for you, in particular for males and male teachers.
Which is the effect (if any) of asanas and practice on men prostate?
The reason I am asking is the following:
when practicing, often the area around the prostate or the prostate itself need to be contracted. I refer in particular to:
1- squezing the butt cheeks
2-mula bandha
3- turning your coccyx down in almost every asana (my teacher is very serious on this, to both prevent injuries in the lower back and boost rotation and openness)

Now, in the last few months I have been suffering of prostatitis, treated with antibiotics, and the urologist suggested to avoid those actions where the prostate is contracted (like when you try to stop urination or stop ejaculation) because it might cause some bacteria to get back into the prostate (I beg your pardon if this is not correct, I am not a doctor, but this is what I understood).

What you do in Mula Bandha though, is exactly this: contracting your prostate. Correct? should I avoid it?
Also, turning the coccyx (how do you say properly in English???) it seems to me to do the same. Since I do this very very often, do you think it might have some effect on the prostate? or is it not related?
And since my hip is still closed, I need the brick under my butt while sitting: can this also affect the prostate?

I thank you in advance

Different styles of practice use and apply tools differently.

I don’t fully understand the exact question but I am wondering why this is not being discussed with the person you have chosen to teach you?

I am sorry the question isn’t clear, I thought it was.
I am asking if the practice of yoga which require to lock your hip/coccyx or squeez your butt (things I have found in different styles and with different teachers) might have an effect on prostate.

I will obviously ask my teacher. But being she a woman, I thought it would be better to discuss with someone who does have a prostate in fact.

Hello,

Gross Mula Bandha is the rythmical contraction and relaxation of the bulbocavernous muscle, located at the center of your perineum, between your anus and scrotum. It has nothing to do with your prostate, never mind. Perhaps you were referring to Vajroli Mudra, rythmical contraction and relaxation of the urogenital muscles, but this one has more to do with your bladder rather than with your prostate.

I say gross because subtle Mula Bandha is the relaxation of the Brahma Granti, a knot/blockage in Sushumna Nadi, located between Muladhara Chakra and Swadisthana Chakra.

Regards.
