Yoga/Ayurveda Daily Routine

Most of might be beginning our yoga life style through Asana practices, but Asana practice is not enough for us to keep our health balanced. Especially, how we beginning our morning time. It have a great effect physically and mentally. Yoga and Ayurveda guide us to go through a balanced daily routine to get a healthy life style.

  1. Wake up before Sun rise. Traditionally tells to wake up at Brahmamuhurta (3 hours before sun rise). You can wake up around 5pm is a balanced life style wake up. The reason, through out the night time our body is resting and body wastages will accumulate in regions, especially around sinus area, mouth, throat with mucus (mucus helps to purify the air throughout our daily days by cleaning the dust from the polluted air). These mucus deposit always thick during early morning duration. After the sun rise, these mucus and other wastages started melting and it will go to the stomach to give indigestion, which can lead us to the ulcer to the stomach cancers. Before sun rise, always the nature will be very silent and with pure vibrations, this is the right time for spiritual practices.

  2. Always wake up slowly-slowly. Don’t run out from the bed suddenly. Better lay on right side first for couple of minutes then wake up is the good way of lifting from the bed. Through out the night we are in the supine position, which make the heart to be beating very silently. If you wake up and run fastly then you making the heart to beat faster with in a second. This kind of sudden strokes will make the heart muscles weak. 85% of the heart attack happening always early morning while they wake up from the bed. This is the one of the reason. Traditionally, you can sit on the bed after you wake up and pray for a while. Especially looking towards you both palms. This will make the heart gradually prepare to move.

Try to touch the plams on the ground first rather than the feet. Through out the night we are on the bed which make our body charges neutral. Our earth is having the negative pole which make the earth to suck the whole body energy to the earth while we wake up (if we placing the feet suddenly on the ground). Traditionally, touch the ground with the palm and pray to the mother earth for holding me for through out the night. Also, before you leaving.

  1. Empty your bowl. Through out the night the faeces is in bowl. First thing which we have to do is clean it. Otherwise, after we do the heavy movements of body, these faeces and gas will mix the body and it will increase the amount of poison high. Also, this make the pelvis and abdominal region light which makes the body light and can begin the daily things with light body.

  2. Clean your mouth, tongue and face. This is the second Prabhad Karma (morning routine). Our mouth, tongue and eyes will have the wastages which deposited in night. Cleaning them is important. Otherwise, from mouth and tongue these wastages go to the stomach which make the body more poisonous. Cleaning the tongue will stimulate the digestive system. Cleaning eyes are another important kriya. One of the reason for loosing eye sight is this. We always allows this wastages to mix with the eye liquid which make the eyes weak. Washing these regions make the five senses waken.

  3. Clean your Nasal paths (Neti). This will help to clean the dirt from the Sinus and nose areas. Also, it will stimulate the nasal smell connected nervous stimulis.

  4. Body massage and bath. Yoga and Ayurveda always ask to do gentle oil massage on body before the bath. It will help the circulation and soft skin.

  5. Exercise. Asana practice is the right exercise. Ayurveda telling the exercise suppose to be very gentle and make your armpit, below nose and lips region sweat and continue the exercise for 45-90 minutes is the correct exercise for a good healthy living.

  6. Pranayama & Meditation. Early morning pranayama and meditation will help us to improve our spiritual practices and gives a peaceful day.

  7. Breakfast. Always light breakfast.

  8. Time for work. Always work with smile and peace. Do your best and have fun your work too.

This kind of early morning routine make us more balanced with the life.

For a healthy life, an arranged life cycle is necessary.

routines are lovely arent they, I have tried to bring some of this into my day and it is so nice… now i just need to keep adding the steps… I think the full body oil session is next haha!

I can tell you don’t have a few school-aged children to get ready in the morning!

Pretty much my routine, except for asanas (I prefer to do this at 6 pm to release my day) and the neti (does blowing my nose really hard count?).
