certainly helps. But it also has a risk of increasing passion again. But that
doesn’t mean that you should not do it. Rather I advice that you must do
it. But in order to eradicate excessive lust from your mind you must do
Alternate Breathing (Anulom Vilom) pranayam. There is a yogic justification
for why passion increases too much (either physically or mentally) in some
people. The flow of pingala nadi (right nostril channel) is more as compared
to the flow of Ida nadi (left nostril flow). Maybe this is causing too much
of such thoughts. Try doing anulom vilom everyday for half an hour
comfortably. The best way to judge if you are doing it right is ask yourself
if you are enjoying the process. So do it with the speed that is most
soothing for you. Your mind will become balanced and you will get rid of
this habit.
And yes moolbandha is very important. Start gradually and try to increase
duration.
