Yoga for hip flexibility

Alright, I had this issue for, well, forever, my hips are not flexible at all, and for the last few years I get this recurring hip pain, where the femur connects wo the hip, sometimes is so sharp I have to stop walking.

For the last three months I’ve been trying some stretching exercises that have helped a lot with the pain and I have gained some flexibility, but I know I can do better.

Now, I’m a complete beginner, so any help would be eternally appreciated!

Greetings,

First off, I edited your thread title a touch, I hope you don’t mind. Second, some questions that might help people more knowledgeable than me provide you more insight:

  1. Have you seen any western medical doctors and had any imaging studies done on your hip?

  2. How old are you and are you male or female?

  3. Are you aware of any trauma to the hip area?

  4. Can you describe your diet?

  5. The stretches you’ve been doing thus far, where did you learn them. Are you seeing a yoga teacher in your area?

  6. Is there any additional background you can provide that might be pertinent?

In which of the hip joint’s eight movements are you restricted? Any answer other than “all” is welcome.

I would go and see a decent Osteopath, I know a great one in London if that is any help. Just let me know. He has been fantastic for me, he also does acupunture and of course Yoga!!!
