Yoga for knee pain

please suggest some yoga for recurring knee pain for me (male,45 years,78 Kg) .the pain is because of overuse of knee joints in my military career.i may be having very early osteoarthirits

Could you be more specific on two fronts please?
First the nature of the pain you mention - sharp, dull, constant, periodic, morning, evening, better/worse in hot, cold etcetera. Please understand since you are not visiting us in person we have only your verbal picture upon which to go by.

And second the current nature of your practice. If you have no practice then there would be one set of things suggested. If you are intermediate, another.

  1. pain is sharp felt on the knee caps after movement and also sometines during movement.
  2. i do do some yoga like kapalbhatti and anulom vilom but am more keen on a wholesome exercise like surya namaskar which i am forced to avoid because of knee bent poses in it.
  3. the intention is to stay fit and do some cardiovascular exercise where i see problems especilally during walking etc
