Be aware.
Can you give us a synopsis as to what yoga inc is?
Hi David,

thankyou for the link , not sure what I thought of the film , The film is a few years old. Have you seen "yoga unveiled? "this is a film I enjoy.
charliedharma - I have JUST acquired that movie and am excited to finish watching it. I’ve only made it one hour into this as of yet, because its so great to watch! I feel that I will have to watch it again and again in order to pick up on everything.
just want to say thanks to the lead on the films. i am not really fond of films and am sure both movies mentioned here are worth watching. namaste!
Thanks for the link to the film Q. I enjoyed watching the whole thing, which is unusual for me. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view), capital is king, not just in America but in all free market societies. So get used to it. There are lots of people who make a good living by spotting trends and capitalizing on them.
If there is any good that can come out of yoga, inc., it is that yoga teachers can concentrate on teaching yoga, and let the business people run the business. That was expressed in the film. I personally don’t have a problem with Bikram seeking copyright and trademark protection for his particular teaching method. The irony is that Bikram seems to be more businessman than guru.
The way to combat yoga, inc. is for people to go back to guru yoga, in which the allegiance is to the teacher, and not to the studio. It is also ironic that Bikram seems to have capitalized on exactly that.
