Yoga of Present - A wonderful living way

We always worry about a lots of things in life. Sometimes worry about time, relationship, work, future, past, money, ambitions…a thousand excuses to worry. At last for what? We run through out the life to grasp a lot of things which can’t hold in our arms. Get tired one time; atthe end of life or when getting old enough then start awaring that I was just like a horse who became crazy…I was just running and running through out the life…but, gain nothing. Not even one moment in life can say as wonderful.

Yoga teach us to slow down and enjoy the essence of life in present. Whatever we do, doesn’t matter. Just aware that what we doing in that moment…that’s enough! Even we doing bad things, if we awaring it then we will correct that all mistakes once. This helps us to forget about past and future…this helps us to forget about the worries. Just lives in present moment where we exactly existing. This is the life of present…life of yoga!

And what we are achieving by living that life of present? What’s the ultimate goal?

Ultimate goal is “stop worrying about future and past…live the present and future and past can make from this present”. Make a decision in the present that whatever I do, it is for good…!

Thanks for your reply Rajeev.

I do not know how to achieve that state of mind “stop worrying about future and past”. We humans tend to think about our future and what happened in the past. May be there is another way of thinking about past or future which does not affect adversely. If you are living in the society and working then you’ll certainly think about future. It might be possible for the people living in the Ashrams.

Has someone in this forum achieved that state “living in the present and not thinking about past or future” completely?

My own yoga practice is very much about focusing on the present moment. Our minds are often preoccupied with places and times other than the here and now. Asanas and pranayama are excellent techniques for bringing our focus to the present. This is the beginning of self control.
