[QUOTE=panoramix;45039]Hi,
Swami Vishnudevananda said in his Book of Yoga that sirsasana (head stand) was excelent for hair loss or graying. But he didn’t mention whether it was good for one’s beard or not.
Besides, our brain produces a substance, a kind of nectar whose taste is sweet like pear juice, which sages and yogis call Amrit or Soma, and it is said to slow or even stop aging. There are legends about immortal yogis and siddhas living in caves in the Himalayas and Tamil Nadu mountains.
That substance normally drips down from Bindu Visarga to Vishuddha Chakra to Manipura, and there it’s destroyed by Manipura’s fire, what causes aging. Through Kriya Yoga you can stimulate Amrit production and prevent it from falling to Manipura and distribute it to your whole body. Some say you can live just on Amrit, without food.
I don’t know if it really stops or slows down aging, i’m still an infant (36), but i swear that the substance EXISTS and it’s highly intoxicating in a good sense, you can literally get high on Amrit, and it’s taste is delicious.

WHOA!!!
The thing with the shastras is that the Adepts give just enough information in the teaching so the initate can make sense of it . . . hopefully.
WHereas with the uninitated the information given will be just enough to wholly confuse him.
The asanas that would combat the process of aging would be:
Headstand. Shoulderstand. Bow. Camel. Matsyendranath asana. Peacock.
Paschimottanasana.
and yes my personal favorite: The Lying on the floor Pose.
THE BIGGIES.
