Yoga practice - make it up as you go along

This morning I strayed from my usual practice and it was a joy! I simply had two things in mind; my breath and ahimsa. I did less sun salutes and went through a bunch of poses all while keeping those two things in mind. It was awesome.

Yoga practice - make it up as you go along.
Sounds like a good idea.

Did the same kind of routine this morning which lasted about 1.5 hrs.

It’s like there’s an inner spirit or guide that knows just where to go next to get the alingment and breath working together. I love that feeling when I forget my relation to everything like falling through space, forget how big or small I am and can just breathe peace in and breath out tensions…

Sounds like your inner organism just knew what it needed. Sounds great!

you teach the body with repetition, and the body can take over and do what it needs. I think it all hinges on keeping the mind out of the way.

Yes, the body can sort of go into autopilot by how it feels. I try to keep the mind on the body and breathing and let thoughts come and go just like meditation.

I’ve started practicing pranayam and asana routines outside in my back yard most every morning, even when it’s fairly cold, wow, I can’t believe how doing asana routine every day now for about 5 months is making me feel great (I’ve lost over 30lbs)…outside in the freesh air is amazing way to wake up, tall oak trees and the morning chorus. Deep fresh breaths is the key, facing the sun. “inner organism” exact

freeform or freestyle yoga is the next big thing,

like Erich Schiffmann says: whose practice are you doing anyway?

I’ve found that increasing and developing my home practice has only been positive for me as I best know my body and can tune into anything I think I need to do to develop my sadhana. If you are only taking classes you might well be out of balance b/c the instructor is always determining what asanas you practice.
