I am 30 years old. I want to be a maha-yogi(masters of masters in yoga) within a short period of time. How can it be possible please provide me detailed information. Also i want to remain atheist.
Why do you want this?
Aspiring to be a maha-yogi is a valid ambition. But why in a short period of time? Is your idea of Yoga practice similar to martial arts and you are seeing yourself as Bruce Lee? There are several traditions and schools of Yoga; but I have seen none guaranteeing so much success in certain time frame.
The timeline depends on several things. But essentially, the Yoga practices do not ‘bring’ anything by themselves. Collectively they let a seeker have a purified body-mind which can then be turned into a vehicle of enlightenment. More pre-formed ideas one has and more frozen mind-set one has (example: “I want to remain an atheist”) longer it takes to purify. Even after the purification it is a seeker’s long journey dealing with oneself and changing in the process. Question is, are you ready to change. Good luck.

PS. No siddhi’s were used in asserting this observation.
I have a couple of friends that are yoga masters. I don’t know whether they are maha-yogi but I do know that it took them years to attain this. I don’t think it is just a learned practice but an inward journey.
Any inward journey takes commitment and devotion to the practice. If you pursue this path , you will eventually turn inside -out. the inner will be your guidance and perhaps you will give up the idea of being atheist because it will no longer fit you perception of truth. Just remember there is truly no time and as you transform, your original idea of time may change to a greater and more loving awareness in the now. Start without any preconceived notions of the outcome and you will surely succeed.
The word Yogi originally referred in the Classical Sanskrit of the Puranas specifically to a male practitioner of Yoga, from Wiki.
So start practicing yoga under guidance of some expert yoga teacher and this is entirely up to you how quick you understand the things.
And Gud luck.

An astute observation, Boromir of Gondor.
