Yoga Therapy is Amazing

I went to my first Yoga therapy session and it was absolutely amazing. I got more detail and more information in a relatively short time than I did form any other teacher I have ever dealt with…although I have not dealt with that many, only 2.

I can’t wait to go back next week and I got lots to work on this week

Who did you go to, and where?

Yoga therapy? What is that, like a physio-therapy done yoga style? I’m curious to hear more please!

Upstate NY and I went to a friend of mine who, until recently, I didn’t know was a yoga therapist

I guess it is using Yoga to focus on areas that I have had problems with to help strengthen them such as my back, as well as looking at over all health and using Yoga to correct it. Also we discussed diet based on a system I don’t quite understand just yet (vata, pitta, kapha) that comes from Ayurveda. The style, I know her back ground includes Iyengar but she was also referring to Hatha. We also went over Pranayama a little bit

If you think of it could you ask where she was trained. I’ve been looking into becoming a yoga therapist and im researching training.

You do not have to go too far in your rsearch. Right here, on this forum, you
have Mukunda, who wrote a book about SYT-Structural Yoga Therapy.

Go e.g. at the thread “Yoga Therapist” on this forum.
