Yoga Therapy needed for Heart problems

Hello all. My brother has heart problems owing to damage to his heart similar to a stroke. He is young and otherwise fit at 25 yrs of age but will have small ‘attacks’ fairly regularly. Short of a heart transplant there is not much he can do but live with it.

He is already seeing a Doctor but i wondered if there were any specific Pranayama breathing exercises that might help him work towards healing his heart and if there were any specific Asanas that might be also be useful in this regard.

He does not do Yoga but he is open minded and will try anything out.

thanks

Yes there are “things” in yoga for such a person and such a condition however…

Highly trained senior yoga teacher in one-on-one instruction please.

Heart issues need to be worked with using great care and mindfulness. There is no Internet prescription I would be willing to offer.

To a certain extent medication and surgery do not have any lasting cure to diseases of the heart. Many clinical trials have authenticated that practicing yoga may have a significant impact on certain risk factors associated with CVD. It has been observed that yoga can reduce weight gain associated with age, lowering total cholesterol. The results of several trials suggest that yogic practices can also significantly reduce blood pressure in healthy people and also the hypertensive. Another test indicates that the practice of yoga can help slow the onset of Coronary Heart Disease.

Don’t you think this is the very reason the person has directed themselves to a Yoga Forum to inquire in the first place??
