I want to talk about this member. He’s posts are generally too rough for my taste, though other members seems to enjoy his shot of humor. Sometimes I am too serious so I am chocking it up to that. I feel like this is too much though. I find this especially offensive and even mean.

Xela: I think you did a great job trying to diffuse it with a little humor.

What do you guys think? Should I can move it back to General?

I was going to start a post about him too. I think his intentions are good, but may be a bit crass for some. I didn’t like the above comment either, which is why I said what I said, but didn’t want to come off mean either.

I say let’s just keep an eye on him and see how it goes.

I worked with Tourettes patients as an undergrad and I saw how comments like this caused them so much pain. I want to take our nice rule really seriously.

I absolutely agree. I really do not like when people use other people with disabilities as humor. My boss’ son is mentally retarded and it really hits home and you notice yourself saying, “OMG that is so retarded!” Needless to say, I am very observant of it.

Have either of you sent a PM to this person to tell him to cool it? I will do that if you like? This kind of stuff is a violation of the very basic “be respectful of others” rule we have here.

Alix: If you don’t mind, I would appreciate if you did it. To be honest, I am afraid of his come back to being asked to cool it. I am intimated by him. I can tell by InnerAthlete’s replies that he is getting irritated too.
