Hello, I’m searching for a Yoga teacher certification and would like to know which style/school incorporates anatomy/kinesiology most? Thanks! Enja
Great question.
Any YogaAlliance school will have 20 hours minimum of anatomy. With 10 contact hours. I would recommend checking into their guest teachers and find one that is inviting. The continuing education credit requirement might be more valuable for detailed anatomy study.

Paul Greely’s anatomy DVD and Yin Training is beyond compare, humbling, inspirational, truly a yoga/life changing experience. On so many levels it serves yoga. I’d fail to do it justice with my limited words.
Ray Long, author of the ground breaking anatomy book Featuring breathtaking illustrations by Chris Macivor, Ray, an Iyengar trained yoga teacher, and board certified orthopedic surgeon, is on tour with his invaluable anatomy training you can find details through daily bandha.
Leslie Kaminoff, author of the #1 best-selling yoga book “Yoga Anatomy,” runs workshops courses in person and now online. Great stuff.

Wow, thanks for your reply Yogamark!!
Are there any schools that offer more than the minimum YogaAlliance requirement in their certification? How about Structual Yoga or any non-YA schools? I simply can’t believe there is no school offering more than 20 hours of anatomy…
I studied with Leslie Kaminoff btw – great guy, studio and curriculum!!

enja, IYT yoga therapy training does a good job on anatomy, physiology and pathology…
but in my own experience…just get an academic book on the subject of your interest, read it… research… and Paul Grilley has a great video on anatomy and anatomical restriction of different people…
