Wash, wash, wash your hands!

Ditto. I also take echinacea if I’ve been exposed to someone sneezing on me etc.

Uh CM,

Don’t you live in Florida?
That seems like a rather odd location from which to generate a post with the phrase “cold season” as your cold season is about 70? and lasts two weeks with a major panic if an overnight frost is threatened.

Surya Namaskar is good at this season more than whenever.
InnerAthlete surely knows Florida weather ;).
Lucky you, CityMonk, because here we already had few days with temperature below 32? F:o.
But they forecast one more Indian summer.
And I hope winter won`t be so extremely cold as hot this summer was.

Our ‘cold’ season lasts 8 months up here  But I think CM meant cold and flu virus season (bet you knew that). For me, virus season starts when the kids start school. The bugs they bring home…yikes!

Ahhhh, i see.

I was assuming the ref. was to external temp./ seasonal climate conditions.

I think there’s the suggesstion of the propensity/vulnerability for flu-type ‘colds’ when the seasson or weather takes a turn.

i did just experience one the past week so maybe something is going around at the moment.lol.Get yourself a gd jacket. Stay warm

I wonder how “cold and flu season” would go if there was a moratorium on eating refined sugar between October 20th and January 2nd.

Not sure what the connection is. Can you clarify? Is it because refined sugar promotes viral growth?

Refined sugar is an immuno-suppressant. It exponentially reduces the effectiveness of white blood cells to combat invaders.

Thanks what I’m going for! I will report as soon as Jan 2nd:)

By the way approximately these dates in Christian Orthodox tradition is a time of a great fasting…no any animal products, or any craving foods.

FYI, it North Florida it gets down to 27 and even 20F…+ north winds make is feel like -5F:)

And no pumpkin pie? I think I’ll take my chances! lol

But for a contribution to this thread, Swanson’s Vitamins sells a Shiitake/Maitake blend which is a wonderful immune booster. Also, the Thymus Thump I have mentioned in other threads. (unless you have MS, in which case, you shouldn’t do it) And of couse neti pot.

Here on the east coast of South Africa we are getting ready for summer. Had our first body surfing yesterday, and got all the vegie seedlings in the ground. That’s how I’m preparing for summer. Swimming and veggies. 8)

So cold and flu season in North America may be more related to post-Halloween candy than to the change in the weather, although doctors have always claimed that the weather does not produce colds, save getting people huddled together more and contagious.

Just to remind original thread theme:)

Home and in the studio I incorporate more twists to detoxify and use the detox mudra when doing them. Thymus thump daily. The mushroom blend and neti pot are there when I feel a bit compromised. I usually never get the flu or a cold.

Vitamin C, D, because there is not anough sun here in New England, something to raise serotonin.
May be herbal tea. I know echinacea. What else can you recommend ?
