I am suprised that SD has been punished
Yogiadam needs at least 4 days and a good thrashing!
I think YogiAdam should be punished for being ignorant and abusive.
Why should we take our punishment when we have not actually commited a crime to justify this confinement?
As per forum rules Yogiadam should be banned for 3 days for the breaches he made in the “Do your choose your own body thread” As for myself, I have not breached any forum rules in that thread and 70% of my posts have been on-topic. Even when Yogiadam abused me I did not take the bait, and I politely responded.
It is clear David jumped to this decision rashly without even reviewing the thread, just based on Nicole overly emotional post, who too rashly judged the thread and made some sweeping and unfounded statements about us arguing in every thread.
I think YogiAdam should be punished for being ignorant and abusive.
And what is this if not ignorant and abusive?
I think we need to PM David if we disagree with his decision and not post what we think the punishment should be. It’s not our call.
It is our call if we were on the receiving end!!
However Yogiadam is being nice now and I am happy to communicate with him
And what is this if not ignorant and abusive?
I am not ignorant if that’s what you mean. Besides I am quite familiar with the posts of him the day I first logged on. By meaning “ignorant,” I mean spiritual ignorance. This is a Yoga forum, and yoga is a spiritual practice. But he keeps talking about how he crowns materialism and finds no evidence for spirituality, even though evidence is presented to him. Plus, his posts are also abusive.
Now you know what I mean Lotusgirl?
No, it is not our call. It’s David’s forum at the end of the day, and he can do whatever he likes. However, we members have the right to be treated fairly and with respect by David as we contribute to this forum. And David’s haste and knee jerk decision to confine me and and Yogiadam is not fair or respectful at all. It has really tarnished the image of this forum to be honest, because it sounds like strong minded and critical thinkers are not welcome at this forum. This is the message David is sending.
Bans are made for troublesome members. I am not a troublesome member, and many people will vouch for me. I am strong minded, critical thinker and have posted 1,130 posts on this forum, started dozens of threads which have all been huge hits and brought a lot of interesting knowledge, insights and opinions to this forum. I have behaved to a large extent, even while being incessantly attacked by some, I have remained polite and maintained decorum.
It is obvious that many people in this forum feel threatened by my presence here because I speak truth, think very critically and have strong views. This insecurity says a lot about this forum.
I don’t like name calling, that’s all. If you feel YogiAdam is spiritually ignorant discuss this with him. Don’t post he is ignorant and abusive. How was I to know you meant spiritually ignorant if that was not stated. Thank you for clarifying though. Appreciated.
I just feel it is David’s call and we don’t run this forum. We can PM him our ideas suggestions and complaints. I don’t think it is up to us to judge what the punishment should be, even if we were at the receiving end. I have also been at the receiving end, so I do understand what it’s like. Just my opinion.
The allegation that I have been dominating every thread and hijacking made by two posters(Alix and Nicole) is in want of proof. I decided to do some research to verify how true this allegation is. I have analysed the front page of every forum on the main forums and the main recent threads(10+ replies) and minor threads(under 10 replies) to see the number of threads and posts and how many threads I have participated in and how many posts I have made.
The first number is the total number of posts, the second is the posts by me. Threads marked with * are started by me

On the first page of the Spirit path forum there 15 major threads and 12 minor threads(2 have been omitted becase they are not recent or started after this post was being composed) with a sum total of 670 posts. Of those I have participated in 10 threads(37%) and made 148 posts(22%)
CONCLUSION and COMMENTS:
In the General Yoga forum which is the most popular forum used by members I have participated in only 34% of the threads and made only 6% of the total posts on page 1.
In the Poetry and Quotations forum which the least popular of the three main forums I have participated in only 15% of the threads and made only 19% of the total posts on page 1.
In the Spirit forum forum, which is the second most popular forum and where I spend most of my time I have participated in only 37% of the threads and made only 22% of the posts on page 1. A large percentage of those posts were made in “Releasing or Cultivating” thread in a long debate with Quetzalcoatal(61 posts)
Overall percentage of my post share on the three main forums is 15% and overall participation in the threads in the three main forum is 28%.
Therefore the allegation is completely false that I have been dominating and hijacking every thread in these main forums. Of the 15% posts I have made and the 28% threads I have participated in the vast majority of my posts have been on topic, contributed something to those discussions and have been polite.
The allegation that Yogiadam and myself have been fighting in every thread is also completely false. We debated with each other in “Intelligence and spirituality” and “Yoga and Science/QM” where the topic was about science and reason vs spirituality.
In conclusion it will be found that all allegations against me are false and this banning is not justified at all and has been made hastely based on unfounded allegations. The needful needs to be done and the ban lifted.

I also so nice, cause I’m sober. I don’t recall writing most of the stuff above. I was WASTED!!!

Ignorant??? Care to explain.
Hi Yogiadam I wish you had pointed out this a little earlier, I wouldn’t have reacted so quickly. so you are a nice guy after all and it was just the booze
As Buddha suggested, it leads to heedlessness!

Absolutely. I RARLEY drink, but when I do I definitely become aggressive. This is exactly why I rarely drink. The last couple of days are a bit cloudy, but it’s time to get back on track now
SD,
Maybe this “punishment” will give you an opportunity to get a life.

haha
As stimulating as some of the debates are, they can also grow tiresome. Not all shared experience merits an intense exchange on the mythical, metaphysical, or theological context of that experience. That would your own thread.
Sometimes I’m fine with reading about new benefits of sitting in lotus.
I think YogiAdam should be punished for being ignorant and abusive.
You think punishment is warranted for ‘spiritual ignorance’? Spirituality IS ignorance! What century do you think we are in? Are you aspiring to The Crusades? Fortunately we live in a century of freedom, and scientific discovery, and it’s people like YOU who are ignorant. This is why I couldn’t be bothered with this forum anymore, cause I have to put up with this type of ignorance and ultra-low wit. It’s like hanging around in the ‘special class’ at school.
Hi Adam,
You are sometimes bit condescending and aggressive. There were few posts in which you expressed it clearly. If you are as you say after truth - ask yourself: is such reaction not to be expected? Can you justify it? Is there a pattern: joining group full of excitement and then slowly starting to feel irritated and express “heavy” emotions making people upset and feel hurt? There are many fantastic people in this ‘special class’ and it seems there is also something that you like or need since you hang around so much. You can reject it but problem will come back in another group. Sooner or later we always find differences with people and are faced with this desire to change them to think like us - and if we try we surprisingly end up frustrated.
