Discernment and consiousness

I have a question to this forum,
I am praying/contemplating for some time to realy find the truth inside myself, my inner teacher.
Being a kapha person i am devotional and also can sometimes search for love in a strange way. I became very good in fooling myself. My ego likes to be very special. So i expose my ego to the truth because
I realy want to stop it and find truth and not what i like to make up or fantasize.
So i tried opening up my heart wider as ever and ask for help to find the truth and to know the difference between Gods will and my ego.
Then being in meditation ( i was not a sleep) i saw the face of Ramana Maharishi and i heard him say ; help is always there. Sadguru is inside. And i saw endless, enlless rows of yogi’s sitting in meditation.
Has anyone any idea what this can mean? I love Ramana’s teaching so i think it is me again trying to fool myself again. I see a lot of things lately ( like a vison) when i am in deep relaxation; a blue person walking like a King coming towards me very slowly and lovely.
I can not find in yoga sutra’s texts about this state of consiousness and also wonder is there exercise to learn discernment from ego and inner teacher.
thank you for help
Namaste Louise

Namaste Louise,

My teacher used to say that Divine Will is the difficult path, it is usually not the option we as humans would go for. Your will, the path most select, is the easy way.

For me it is about intention, when I do something what motivates me to do it. Do I give bread to the beggar for the world to see or because I feel guilty that I have and he hasn’t? Or, do I do it out of compassion and selfless service to humanity. This I also belief cultivates discernment.

[quote=Pandara;12741]Namaste Louise,

Thank you Pandara ( quote you right this time) , i guess i am on the difficult way. I realy want to submitt to Gods will and know the difference.
Asking yourself questions can help, the intention is also important i agree on that. But sometimes things look like the best , how do you know? ( sometimes it is better NOT to help someone, that is very difficult to do even if it is done out of love)
Louise

What is better or even best, what is good or bad, what is right or wrong, for me these differentiations do not exist, I am a strong believer in appropriateness. If believe that if we meassure everything by its appropriateness in our life, then we live very near to Divine Will. This entail faith, to have the faith that what I am writing here now that this is Divine Will, to have faith to belief that all my actions are Divine Will manifested becasue I do strongly belief that who I AM in Truth is Divine.

so you say “help is always there. Sadguru is inside. And i saw endless, enlless rows of yogi’s sitting in meditation.
Has anyone any idea what this can mean?” Yes, it means help is always there. sadguru is inside.
you see you opened your heart, let go of your mind, and because of that you were rewarded from within and without. Now you are trying to understand with your mind that which you experienced because of your heart. If this happened to me the only question I would have would be what is the definition of the term sadguru, because I do not know that definition

in yoga there is accordign to some four states of consciousness. waking, sleeping, dreaming, and superconscious. SOme people may use different names and please never take my posts as gospel. so anyways we tend to live in the first three states, visions come in the fourth state. You somehow tapped into the fourth state. If you question how you got there and look forward to getting back you may hinder yourself from returing. Maybe there will come a day you can go into this state at will, but it seems you are not at that point yet but then again you are and you just dont know it. In the fourth state of consciouness, which yogis who meditate all day may go into as well as other people, but in this fourth state the advanced ones supposedly can come to you. SO when we think some yogis just sit in caves for years, our judgement about exactly what they are doing and where they are might be wrong. They may be going out into the world and helping people such as yourself

If I had this experience this is what I would do. Occasionally throughout the day and month, and year, or the rest of my life, I would close my eyes and watch it again, because now the vision has been recorded, close your eyes right now and you will see it all again. You are not fooling yourself, it happened and as I finish this post I would like to leave with a quote “help is always there, sadguru is inside” enjoy it, you are worthy of it.
and besides, something that beatiful who cares where it came from

Namaste pandara, if there is no right or wrong how do you make choises? to know and choose for what is appropiate you have to know what is not appropiate. and to who is it appropiate? Is there a way not to differentiate and be beyond right and wrong;
I do not want to be very near i want to submitt fully to Divine will; yes we are divine but do you experience it or belief it to be true.
I am very hard trying to give up the veil of ignorance
Thank you very much for helping me find answers

[quote=justwannabe;12755] Now you are trying to understand with your mind that which you experienced because of your heart. Yes you are right that is my problem most of the time. The truth that will bring you from darkness to light; realised being who helps others to become likewise = sadguru

I do very much enjoy it, But i do not want to become attached to memory or dwell upon pleasure because that will be an obstical.

The mind accumulates countless desires, but it exists solely for the sake of being close to the True Self [ IV 24 Yoga sutra of Patanjali ] as interpreted by Mukunda Stiles

now you are not wanting to become too attached to the experience. If you want to quote Pantanjali look for the qote on how to stop negative things from coming, one of them is by replacing it with positive things. YOu are on a path, to look wihtin yourself. I am on this path as well. If we want to focus on positive things in our lives I dont see the worng in it. You asked and it was given. You like sunsets, go watch sunsets, you like music, go listen to some, you like friends so hang out with friends. Still have your time and place to expand your stillness, but enjoy what you enjoy and by being in the moment and fully enjoying it, rather then worrying about being too attachd, your inner stillness may expand.
My mom told me she loves me, can I become too attached to that, I dont believe so. I do not know all and your path is your own. take from my words what expands your heart, leave the rest behind
With love
Neil

Thank you all again, I am not looking for lovely experiences ( although i like that very much) i want to find the truth inside and listen to my inner teacher and act in Gods will and not for the benefit of my ego. Love is good. Cultivate positive things are good. Yes i agree. Attachment is that a good thing? it will make you suffer if you loose it ( and you will)
good luck in the search for you also

Sometimes things just need to be left to follow their own course.

If you want to be open, be open. Do not search for meanings or peculiar experiences.
Being open is the hardest thing to achieve, It means we embrace empyness, purposelesness, nothingness, we just are there, not even waiting.
My deepest experince is that of total helplessness, not a comforting thought or feeling … it was than when I heard the promise. I do not know what it was, I just knew, that everything will be allright. I had not the slightest idea how that could happen, as from a worldly point of view, there were no way out, and yet, I knew that everything will be allright.
And the strange thing is, that every suffering I have to face now, just throws me back into that state … I have the feeling of some unavoidable fate, and that fate is full of promise. I do not know what it will be, it is just a state of being ready for something wonderful to happen, without me being in it’s way. It is like waiting for a christmas present, not knowing what it will be.

Namaste mukti,

Before you can start to practice anything you have to hear from it, so listen or read teachings or quotes is good thing. We are all trying to learn and get things clear. Quoting teacher is also for the OTHER ONES. For sharing your blessings.
I experienced that myself from hearing people tell about things with so much love that it came straight in my heart and it started me to search for the truth inside too.
Quoting the teacher is also internalize to me. Like chanting, it keeps me reminded of the wisdom and truth of my teachers. it keeps me on to the right track,

Sometimes when i feel like i am my teachers parrot it shows me i am just talking words and it is not my own experience. So it also helps me knowing where i am with internalizing the teachings.
I have a teacher - in my hatha yoga teacherstraining - who is always talking about his teacher Jean Klein and at first i was very much irritated by that. I thougt are you his parrot? who are You?
Later i learned to understand why he talks like that. I see now how much he loves his teacher and how gratefull he is and that he knows all is given to you.
You said in a previous post - your servant. well i guess that is what we all are.
I am very happy and say THANK YOU for alowing me to serve you.
Every time i say Mukunda says …i feel so much love in my heart. So it is my way to wrap that quote with love and remember where it came from.
Just practicing to stay on the road

i bow to YOU ALL, Namaste

The HEARING is the KEY of AWAKENING, the ANSWER comes to the “STICK TO IT HEART”. Yes WE should ALWAYS strive to become the GURU’S words but not get caught up in the EGO of the WORD’S contents. Then we only but be cheating ourselves and others in pretence. READ, STUDY, ANALIZE, and remember that it IS only an EXTERNAL PROCESS, WHICH IS NECESSARY TO START THE INWARD JOURNEY, so if i may have said anything to have brought about ripples, i bow to You and ask your kind forgiveness. Your path and Teacher WILL ( if followed) TAKE YOU STRAIGHT TO THE GOAL and thru YOUR GUIDENCE, WILL HELP TAKE ALL kindred ONES like an ARROW STRAIGHT BACK TO THE TRUTH AND REALITY OF BEING,

Namaste my HEART,
mukti

Namaste Mukti,
What do you mean by; let us not be caught up in the ego of words.
Words and sounds are powerfull tools for transformation to me. (English is not my native language ) So maybe i missinterpret it

Why are you shouting your thruth at us in CAPS lock?

I bow to you also , lets make sure we do not bump our heads into eachother, but than again maybe i need that shaking of my mind. Just pray it will fall straight into my Heart.
Better than bowing back to you
Before you touch the ground i will lift you up.
There is nothing to forgive, but just in case i missed it i forgive you anyway

Namaste Dear Heart,

It is always very easy to misunderstand via this way of communication, for the main reason that it is so impersonal, if i have offended you in any way with cap locks then i ask your forgiveness for my ignorance. i too have much to learn and how to bring this over without offending and or causing any ripples on any one’s consciouness, please do not think that you must bow to me, but always bow to GOD within yourself. i am nothing, God is all, whatever each individual thinks or feels that, That Is, for we all have our own individual concepts and notions, and that makes us all so special and unique on our journey back home, once again forgive my ignorance, if i have offended you in any way with my expressions please forgive, i am only an infant, so Mother please forgive your child, Jai Devi Ma,

Namaste Ma and namaste to ALL,
mukti

Ps: i have 3 weeks vacation so i will be sharing and learning and growing from your kindness on this forum, namaste to ALL

Namaste Mukti,

Fact that you are writing here is just one of the many ripples you leave in life, your words even here are energy and they will have as energy some perpetual ripple on someone somewhere. That is the internet, it is perpetual, everytime somebody in the future will read your words here it will be part of another ripple, talk about perpetual motion.

Dear sweet person called mukti,
you have not offended me at all. I was making a bit fun of our heads bumping while bowing. I am a bit of a clown sometimes. I did do Zen meditation and thougt of myself as a sitdown comedian.
