Yogiadadam…THOU SHALT NOT COVET THY NEIGHBOURS WIFE …well really…
You see, the situation with us Hindus these days is analogous to the situation that presented itself before the feet of Martin Luther King. Here are some juicy quotes that relate to the present situation of Hindus.
“I am sorry that you statement did not express a similar concern for the conditions that brought the demonstrations into being. I am sure each of you would want to go beyond the superficial social analyst who looks merely at the effects and does not grapple with underlying causes.”
“I should have realized that few members of a race that has oppressed another race can understand or appreciate the deep groans and passionate yearnings of those that have been oppressed and still fewer have the vision to see that injustice must be rooted out by strong, persistent and determined action.”
“It is the strangely irrational notion that there is something in the very flow of time that will inevitably cure all ills. Actually time is neutral. It can be used destructively or constructively…We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the vitriolic words and actions of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people. We must come to see that human progress never rolls in on the wheels of inevitability.”
Only difference nowadays is its the Hindu instead of the African American.
White people have always remained so. They oppress and then say “Hey hey go away…wait for some, other day!” And the “good” white people," the ones on these forums, only remain silent and think that time “rolls on the wheels of inevitability.” “Now don’t start protesting against your oppression! Let your culture be destroyed!” Meanwhile, they “look at the effects and do not grapple with the underlying causes.” They denounce Hindu violence against Christians and Muslims (regardless of their narrow scale) and do not look at the causation holistically.
The fact that SD’s and my posts have elicited so strong an emotional response from you hypocrites is indicative of your supremacist and Western biases. Most of you are no better than the whites who “lynched our mothers and fathers at will and drowned our sisters and brothers at whim…[who] cursed, kicked, brutalized and even killed our black brothers and sisters with impunity…”
But of course, “I should have realized that few members of a race that has oppressed another race can understand or appreciate the deep groans and passionate yearnings of those that have been oppressed and still fewer have the vision to see that injustice must be rooted out by strong, persistent and determined action.” Whites will never understand what it feels to be oppressed and hated since they are so high and mighty sitting on their thrones at the top of the world and are the ones doing the oppression.
In conclusion (in case the racists didn’t bother reading my post): Most of you all have Western and Christianized supremacist biases. Most of you are willfully ignorant and can never understand the oppression we Hindus go through on a daily basis and the actions necessary to end it. Nevertheless, “I am thankful, however, that some of our white brothers have grasped…this revolution and committed themselves to it. They are still all too small in quantity, but they are big in quality.”

First I will applogize for my insenstive remark; however, I will not applogize for my religion, my ideals, my views,my nationality my race, or my gender. Yo see by being female (no matter what the race) already makes us a target for discrimination. Through out the world, we are the poorest, most uneducated and most likely to suffer harm at the hands of men. For centuries we have been sold as property, bartered as property and told we could not even own our own property (even in the US until the late 1960’s and early 1970’s). We are in many countries today still the victims of hunger, sickness, and rape. Here in the US I still only make $0.75 for every $1.00 my male counterparts make. As a woman who has pursued a career in the sciences and technology I frequently had to silently endure crude, crass and sexual comments that were made in my presence.
Does this make me angry? Yes! Do I preach and voice it where ever I go? No!
Do you know why?
Because I refuse to behave as a victim. No one can define me except myself. Not my husband, not my children, not my race, my gender, my nationality or my religion.
Only I can define myself.
Do me a favor. Stop lumping us all together. The West is not just full of your predefined White, American, Western thinking humans. Rather we are white, black, mulato, asian, hispanic, female, male, catholic, muslim, hindu…
We are all human.
I dont understand what this means Flex?
I’m betting the kid can’t resist seeing what the people on his ignore list are saying and un-ignores them within 7 days. Now, we can speed up the process if the ignored ups the chatter

ahhh… ehhh oops… yeah, no it was a joke… no I wouldn’t do a thing like that (phew!)
I should think so! it could result in purgatory or summink Yogiadam, if you did!..isnt that right Thomas…Thomas knows!
Crikey Flex, that’s a bit strong!!

Ok, find me EVERY post where I preached violence against Christians and Muslims. GOGOGO! In fact, I mention in MANY posts that I wish to intellectually undermine and weaken the influence of Christianity and Islam. I don’t see how that is violent, except in debates.
Black? Discriminated against.
Mulato? Still part black and still discriminated against.
Hispanic? When was the last time I heard a joke on lawn mowing mexicans? Oh yeah, a few hours ago.
Female/Male -
Catholics/Protestants - The ones doing the discrimination.
Muslim - Discriminated against. Except most people poop their pants when it comes to the fear of being bombed by a Muslim they annoyed.
Hindu - “Shit colored people, cow piss drinkers, dirty water drinkers, idol worshipers, curry eaters, horrible B.O, 7-11 owners, slum dwellers, casteist bigots…”
It is precisely these Western supremacist and Christianized biases SD and I wish to make a strong and determined stand against through intellectual awareness (and hopefully defeat).
But of course, you will say “I don’t believe you” like many of the people on this forum. This is where you lose all credibility and prove you bias against Hindus and Indians.

Purgatory, I don’t know what that is, but it sounds fun lol I’ll give anything a try once
Nahhhh Its the Catholic hell I think apparently you toss and in turn in everlasting flames…bit like the terminator before he finally disappears in the boiling furnace gloopy stuff…thrashing around, all your previous lives would be taking a turn to thrash around if they were a Hindu in this Cathoilic hell

So you are O.K with the destruction of Hinduism? Thanks for admitting it after weeks of pointless “debating.”
I wish I had the powers of the villain in that Terminator movie though. Terminator was lucky he was in a steel factory.

First of all, please quote where I said you were violent. Also why don’t you find the post where I am biased against Hindus and Indians? (shouldn’t be so hard to skim considering that I only have about 50)
For your information many of the best and smartest people I have met are Indians and Hindu. (Went to High School and College with many and even dated a few.) I am highly insulted that you would make such generalizing statements about anyone who you never met in your life. That my dear is your problem. How can you expect people to take your arguments seriously if all you do is demean them? Or even worse, cry fowl or state that “life isn’t fair”.
Well…Life isn’t fair. There are always going to be bias, discrimination, and supermacy. It is the nature of the world we live in.
For your awareness, Discrimination against women is hugh (much larger than that of Hindus). It is spreads world-wide and encompasses over half of the world’s population and the majority of the discrimination is done by Men. (Go ahead say “you don’t believe me” so you can lose all credibility and I can prove you are bias against Women…)
On a higher note, President Obama gave praises to India and China for their increased standards in education and challaged us (Americans) to become more serious about our education system (which is terrible here in the public schools) or risk being left behind. I fail to see how this complement can be overlooked by someone of your intelligence.

Whoops, for some reason I saw “violence” instead of voice. They look very similar when only a cursory glance is made. Sorry, doing Physics homework and responding to posts don’t mix well. My fault.
Well if you advocate that we Hindus should take the destruction of our culture lightly, then you are certainly biased against us and our cause. Remember: “I guess I should have realized that few members of a race that has oppressed another race can understand or appreciate the deep groans and passionate yearnings of those that have been oppressed and still fewer have the vision to see that injustice must be rooted out by strong, persistent, and determined action.” - Martin Luther King
Bearing abuse consistently does nothing to solve the problem. We Hindus have done that for a millennia and now our country is only just beginning to recover from the damage. Even then, there is still great disunity and instability in India, all thanks to the British.
As MLK said, such injustices should be rooted out by strong persistent and determined action. As Gandhi did. As MLK did with the Civil Rights Movement. As the next generation of Hindus will do by raising awareness and understanding. As should you by doing the same for women.
Of course life isn’t fair. But should you take as an excuse to wallow in your suffering and do nothing about it? There is always the potential for change. There is always the potential for perfection.
As for whether the discrimination of women is the worst kind in the world, it depends on your perspective. Physically and socially, the discrimination against women is indeed the worst. Then again, what do you define as discrimination? Anything that doesn’t follow the Western secular humanistic ideology? I very much admire the women rights cause but at times, there needs to be objective limits with respect to cultural contexts. For example, there are just as many Muslim women who take pride in wearing Burqas as there are those who note the economic and political squalor in their countries and juxtapose it with the mitigation of adversity they feel will come with the implementation of democratic ideals in their daily lives. I know, since I grew up in a city in India with a very large Muslim population (almost 50% at the time).
Religiously? It is the Hindus that are discriminated against the most. Hinduism is the antipode of Abrahamic religions. Hinduism is the last bastion of organized paganism, polytheism, idolatry, and etc, left in the world today. Western media and academia denigrates Hinduism on a daily basis; do you realize that the history taught in Indian schools today was written by Christian Eurocentrists who sought to divide India and undermine its religion and culture?
Culturally? The Jews. We all know the details.
Racially? The Africans. Same story.
You are right. There is no excuse for me derailing a reasonable person like you. I tend to get carried away by the provocative posts of the trolls on this forum and considering their numbers, you can never be too accommodating.
So what if Obama commented positively on India and China? He is a politician and like all politicians, they must pave the way for their county/state/country; that way is by no means paved with gold. The president’s sentiment is by no means a reflection of the dogma of a society (a society that gave him a low approval rating if I might add). The education system and the culture of this country is precisely why such prejudice and sentiment prevails in this society.
Well…Life isn’t fair. There are always going to be bias, discrimination, and supermacy. It is the nature of the world we live in.
That is like Rosa park or Martin Luther king saying, “There is going to be bias, discrimination and supermacy. It is the nature of the world we live in” And then doing nothing about it.
I can see why you say that because you accept it is natural because of your religion. This is why I see your religion as the biggest obstacle to progress in the world.
I see your religion as the biggest obstacle to progress in the world.
Wow! If only EVERYONE thought that about their own religion, we’d be living in an amazing place right now!
You still need religion.
Einstein famously said: “Science without religion is blind and religion without science is lame”
The answer to the problem is: a scientific religion

Well two points, and I’ll make this brief cause it bores me lol
Firstly, even if Einstein was saying that you need religion, doesn’t mean anything
Einstein is just a human, and ALL humans say stupid things.
Secondly, this is a misinterpretation of what Einsteinian religion is. He is referring to God and religion, the same way Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking refers to it, in meaning a certain awe about the universe and it’s mysteries. None of them at any time imply that organized religion and churches are wonderful.
ALL humans say stupid things.
Including you
It cannot be denied that the human being tends to the sublime and the divine. Including the Einstein’s and the Sagans. The source of that sublime and divine is within the human psychology itself. So a scientific religion would be one that
- Accepts that the divine is real and knowable
- Find a method to get to the divine
I know this is likely to go over your head. But it is worth a try
Well my point was a little different, and in a way has parallels with your saying “This is why I see your religion as the biggest obstacle to progress in the world.”…
I almost agree, in that ANY “be all, end all’s”, are obstacles to progress. I believe, as soon as you find “the truth”, you’ve instantly limited and conditioned yourself… And it happens in ALL walks of life. Whether we think we have the perfect diet, perfect workout routine, perfect meditation techniques, perfect Martial Art, perfect morals, or perfect religion… I just see ‘the perfect’ anything, as an instant obstacle in progress. It’s like a little sticking point in our lives… OMG look, now I’ve started with the philosophical stuff, I’m sorry, I’ll have to stop my part of the discussion here, or I’ll bore myself into a coma lol

Now don’t be silly Billy, of course I am not into the destruction of Hinduism!
Hinduism is profoundly brilliant…
