Inspiring wisdom for everyone

Yes, because a rose called by any other name would still smells of a rose.

We know something not by its name but by its properties. Hinduism is the religion that teaches that we are spiritual beings who incarnate for the purpose of spiritual evolution and our goal is to self-actualize in this life by overcoming our desres and reaching a state of pure mind so that we are in perfect resonance with absolute realtiy(enlightenment) We must live in harmony with the laws of nature in order to promote spiritual evolution. If we go against the laws of nature we incur karma and enter into further bondage with the world and suffer.

No other religion on Earth teaches this.

except the buddhism.

ah, yes!
It’s a bit crazy assume we can predict the future. I doubt that all the other religions are going anywhere and if they did who’s to say Hinduism isn’t going to disappear with them. I guess it’s good to see that although you attempt to speak truth you also speculate. Which is not truth obviously it’s opinion
Using the ignore feature is like cupping your ears and humming ‘la la la la la’. You still can hear the chatter. I just felt I should share that.

Predicting the future by speculating on the past is known in the financial world as ‘turkey economics’. Consider the Thanksgiving turkey - from the moment it’s born it is fed each day for the first months of it’s life. Then, a month before Thanksgiving its daily rations increase each day fattening up the bird. To the turkey, extrapolating on the past, the rations will continue to increase in every coming day, until I’m swirling a bit of it’s thigh through a pile of jellied cranberries while someone refreshes my chardonnay. There really is no way the bird could have predicted that outcome based on near-past experience.

In the 1960s, many world academics predicted that Russia would eventually overtake the west. Anthony Burgess even wrote a renowned novel of the future where the youth of London spoke a kind of patois mixture of Russian and English. No one could see Glasnost or the Berlin wall coming down, and something unpredicted exists now.

Heated discussions around predicting which culture will be dominant in the coming century is a moot exercise, entertaining as it is.

On another note: I’ve posted about my friend ‘Andrei’ here some time ago. He has been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, a kind of high-functioning autism. Andrei has been my best friend for 40 years and I have always been a bit frustrating by his distorted view of the world. He would become fixated on an idea (screwy as it was) and nothing anyone could say or do would shake his conviction of that idea. This hampered his social abilities greatly. I now understand after all these years why he is the way he is. I just wanted to share that too.

its all a bit ironic
