Living masters and authentc traditions
Thanks, I have already been a part of this organization in the past. I left it, as did the rest of the friends I introduced to it, after it got too cultish and grandiose claims were made about Shri Mataji.
I don?t know what people expect by coming in Sahaja yoga.

I don’t know what people expect by coming in Sahaja yoga.

I did not really go with any expectations. I gave it a fair trial for a few months, despite several red flags going off, and eventually I left and so did my friends who I introduced to it. Here are some of the reasons why I left

  • I was told that I was already self-realised from day one, after some guy put his hand over my head and claimed he could feel the “cool breeze” I then realised everybody that came there was told the same.
  • We were told to meditate by pointing our hands towards a picture of Sri mataji, and we would feel vibrations by doing it. Those of us who did not, were told we were not sensitive enough yet.
  • We were told pure dogmas of what was right and what was wrong. I was told the Dalai Llama was a fraud/trickster. When I asked how do they know that? They said, “feel the vibrations” We were told to reject all of the traditions we were currently following and follow everything they say to a T. One of the teachers there recounted a story of his visit to an Ayurvedic doctor which was going very well, until the doctor told him he was a part of some spiritual group(on their blacklist) He then vomited and blamed the doctors “negative vibrations”
  • In a going deeper meeting I was told to reject all science and reason
  • Non-vegetarianism was encouraged. I was criticised for being vegetarian.
  • They claimed Shri Mataji was the incarnation of the divine goddess(a book I acquired from them had portrats of Krishna, Jesus, Virgin Mary, Shiva, Kali with Shri Mataji’s face) including
popular Sanskrit mantras each amended with a line praising Shri mataji
  • Shrimataji claimed to have opened up the crown chakra for all of humanity in 1970 allowing everybody to get full liberation. Prior to her, nobody got full liberation.
  • The rituals were hokey
  • I was constantly preached at and so were all my friends.
  • At a going deeper meeting we were shown a brainwashing video of Shrimataji’s greatness

Sounds like there’s a bunch of phoney bologne out there kids.

Unfortunately a lot of people in Sahaja yoga speak withow knowing fully what is SY. I will try to clarify:

1. At the beginning in SY only one or two threads of Kundalini rise, that’s why we can’t speak of full Realization.
2. Some people don’t feel vibrations immediately but later they can.
3. When you start feeling vibrations you can discriminate who is real and who is fake.
4. Science does not have morality. Thinks about this.
5. Vegetarianism can be dangerous because some people need proteins
6. You will realize who is Shri Mataji when you start experience vibrations coming from her photo
7. During human evolution a lot of incarnations came to open different chakras in our subtle system. Previous one was Christ to open Ajna chakra.
8. The purpose of these rituals is to purify your chakras
9. Preaching has limited results. You need to start have your own experience.
10. You can’t discriminate if this video is true or not if you don’t have yoga/union/.

Well, you clarified alright. You clarified the reasons why me and my friends left in the first place. Sorry for us it was blatant Shri Mataji is a fake and SY cult she has created, modelled after Osho(She went to his ashram before starting her own cult, though SY claim she only went there to destroy the competition. The truth is she went there as a devotee and theres pictures of her at the ashram wistfully listening to Osho’s discourse) When I saw the brainwashing video of Shri Mataji allowing herself to be worshipped like a goddess by faithful Indians(and gullible Westerners) crowning her and pouring milk on her feet and kissing them, not to mention the fact that her disciples had pictures of her annointed feet in their living room, was enough to drive the point home - that she is a complete fraud.

Her disciples pay her handsomely for her to buy massive mansions and palaces in various parts of the world. It’s pretty disgusting to be honest. No wonder SYers asked to reject science and reason - because if they actually thought critically- they would realise they are being taken for a ride.

The rituals are hokey nonsense - twirling your hands up and down your spine and then tying a knot at the top. Making the gesture of a shield and then asking the mother to protect you. You might as well believe in the tooth fairy and Santa clause.

Surya Deva,
Be as a scientist and experiment to see if the method is working.
So far I am listening from you only complains of your EGO.
I am confident because my 20 years personal experience and because I?ve witnessed how people have been changed for good.

I did, I gave it a fair trial over a few months.

I know the scientific method thank you very much, and SY fails it. I remember how people coming in with various ailments got contradictory vibrations from each worker there. If “checking vibrations” was valid and reliable then we would each get the same vibrations from people and diagnose the same ailments. The truth was, everybody got different “vibrations” and said contradictory things.

I could easily put you to the test. I could bring in random subjects who have an ailment and then ask you to diagonse their ailment by checking their vibrations. You will not be able to do it, because this vibration checking method SY teaches is complete and utter BS - totally made up stuff by the cult leader.

Seeker,

“1. At the beginning in SY only one or two threads of Kundalini rise, that’s why we can’t speak of full Realization.”

There are many things which are often interpreted as an awakening of Kundalini, most of are which are simply one’s hallucinations. Unless one has a thoroughly understanding of one’s system, it will be almost impossible to tell the difference between what is one’s imagination and an authentic experience.

“2. Some people don’t feel vibrations immediately but later they can.”

That has absolutely no significance in itself.

“3. When you start feeling vibrations you can discriminate who is real and who is fake.”

It has very little to do with such a thing. If your yourself are absolutely in communion with your own being, then you have come to know of what truthfulness is. And unless you yourself are the living truth, it will be impossible to recognize another who has also come to the space. This is something which requires you to know yourself, through and through. It has very little to do with something as superficial as whether you are feeling vibrations or not.

“4. Science does not have morality. Thinks about this.”

Neither does nature itself.

“5. Vegetarianism can be dangerous because some people need proteins”

It can be dangerous, and most of the dangers that arise are simply because certain people have been deciding to become vegetarian without educating themselves on what is needed to create a diet which provides a balance of what their system needs.

“6. You will realize who is Shri Mataji when you start experience vibrations coming from her photo”

For one such as yourself, because you are absolutely blind to existence around you, one needs some kind of miracle to nourish your ego. Otherwise, you would have come to a contentment with things as they are. Eating, sleeping, drinking, urinating, defecating, every word, action, and gesture is the lotus paradise.

“7. During human evolution a lot of incarnations came to open different chakras in our subtle system. Previous one was Christ to open Ajna chakra.”

No incarnation or avatara is needed for this. Just the discipline of yoga.

“8. The purpose of these rituals is to purify your chakras”

That’s good, but unless you yourself are willing to initiate the effort and energy that is needed to come to your own liberation, it is not going to be of any help. And tremendous effort and energy is needed on your part, this is not a sit and do nothing phenomenon.

“9. Preaching has limited results. You need to start have your own experience”

For the first time, you have said something which is of some value.

“10. You can’t discriminate if this video is true or not if you don’t have yoga/union/.”

It was just a ripple in the lake.

Agree. A lot of people overload sympathetic nervous system (SNS)-Ida and Pingala nadi. Because of this they feel some pain, hot waves and others and they think that this is Kundalini.
Please watch this comprehensive explanation about Kundalini and our subtle System:

Good one! How can anyone beat the Kryias handed down from Babaji to that Lahiri Mahasaya guy?

Simple. Effective. Adaptable.
No guru worship required. No joining of cults needed. Keep your own religious form and your day job!

I watched about 35 seconds of the video you posted. I thought about throwing a shoe at my Computer screen and I was gonna do it too but then good sense caught hold of me again and I wrote you this letter.

Seeker33 GET OUT OF THERE!!!

I think you should go study with Amir. He says he’s a buddha.

I heard that she claimed to be the incarnation of Shakti. THE Shakti. That’s heavy. & I find it interesting that someone who isn’t a fan of “fake gurus” would create a new yoga teaching, proclaim herself a massive primordial goddess incarnate & then amass a huge fortune from her followers…
Coming of The Comforter has been promised 2000 years ago.
Are you saying what I think you are saying? Well, you’ve been hanging in there now for 20 years, haven’t you? You really are convinced that she is the “promised comforter” ? Who the hell promised a “Comforter” 2000 years ago? Ah well, maybe they have, there is always a promise of a coming messiah. Never heard the “Comforter” promise before. Well, she certainly looks quite comfortable, all the extra padding on her bones would make sitting on her throne quite comfy.

I actually watched quite a few videos of hers on youtube, even before you mentioned it. She is full of it! And rude!

And yes, she shouldn’t be talking about fake gurus, she herself is one of them. But of course, Seeker 33, you probably pity us for being so ignorant.

Maybe sometimes, in your sleep, you toss and turn and worry about having picked the wrong guru, but then, in your waking life, with your intuition firmly shut off again, you plod along and listen to her every word.

Picking up the pieces after 20 years would probably be too much for you. All the best! And I really mean that, in a good way. (I’m not being sarcastic this time, ok )
I don’t know. I draw a blank one that one. My intention at the moment is simply to go India and spend some time with Gurus that I feel most at affinity with from the research I have done and the discourses I have seen, and then let my intuition guide me.

Do you have any better ideas? All the help I get will be much appreciated. As I am going to India in approx 2 months.
Hi Surya. I don’t know how it works in India…but can I suggest you choose Ajna Chakra practice combined with heart Chakra…

Ajna increases Intuition and Psychic abilities and other really interesting things that will develop as you practice. It is a sight based experience. You can also find the inner guru with Ajna. You can visually travel through the Astral realm on route to the self. You will find it interesting…(not that I have got to that of course) It has to be done properly. Not excessively I think.

The technique definitely is practised in India. My father said the technique is in Hinduism and Buddhism and he went to mention more and hesitated, he was Sikh from the Panjab and spent time walking in the foothills of the Himalayas sitting with Yogis here and there…Its the looking for the little light technique, eyes closed looking down to point of nose… Also the Master will know about the seated inner Guru…by the way, when you have the Guru seated at your brow in open Ajna state, pay it all your attention you can and observe its size. When you are right, it grows…its not easy because ones ego interferes in ways that become clear as you go along.

Good journey SD x

John 14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Original name in Greek version is Parkletos.
Parakletos. Paraclete. Paraklete. Advocate. Comforter. Counsellor.

Thanks for that. Well, if you are happy with her, then good for you. I really mean that.
It’s not easy looking for answers, being a “seeker”, it’s not easy at all to determine who is real and who is fake, who has a heart of gold, and who just gives lip service. Not easy at all. Surya Deva, I really hope that you find what you are looking for.
